Rihanna goes back to long locks with hair extensions... but maintains her edge with partly shaved off 'do

She likes to think of herself as once of the edgiest popstars around.
So when even though Rihanna has swapped her cropped 'do for longer locks, courtesy of hair extensions, the singer has done her best to ensure she still maintained her edge.
The 24-year-old singer showed off her new look as she headed out in Hollywood on Sunday night.

But while Rihanna's hair appeared modest from the front, when she turned to the side she revealed a partly-shaved section - giving her a twist to the ordinary long locks.
Rihanna also updated her look by going for a lighter shade, wearing extensions lighter than her usual dark brown colour.
The new 'do is in sharp contrast to the crop Rihanna has been rocking in recent weeks, and harks back to the singer's first foray into the music business.

The singer teamed her new hair with a sexy black and white print minidress as she partied with a female friend at the My Studio nightclub in Hollywood.
And Rihanna wasn't the only famous face to be spotted at the nightclub, as her on-off boyfriend Chris Brown's on-off girlfriend Karrueche Tran was also there.
While the pair weren't pictured together, they are believed to have been inside the club together at the same time.

The duo's separate outings at the venue come amid fresh speculation surrounding the status of the relationship between Chris and Karrueche.
Despite the fact that Rihanna and Chris have been spotted looking more than just friends on a number of occasions in recent weeks, pictures which appeared on Twitter over the weekend showed that it was Karrueche who joined Chris at his clothing line launch in Long Beach on Saturday.
An image of Chris posing up with a fan shows Karrueche attempting to blend into the crowd in the background, while a separate image from the event shows Karrueche herself posing up.

And Karrueche's best friend Christina Milian said in a recent interview that as far as she's concerned, Karrueche is still Chris's 'girlfriend', despite the R&B star announcing they had split last October.
When asked about her friend's relationship status with Chris, Christina said on The Wendy Williams Show: 'You know what, from what I've always known, she's his girlfriend.'
