January Jones stuns in a blue, black and white cocktail dress at Mad Men party

She's a Betty! January Jones stuns in a blue, black and white cocktail dress at Mad Men party

|
The actress wore a black and white, zig-zag cocktail dress which definitely could make a few onlookers eyes go funny if they stared at it too long.
With accents of blue thrown into the design, January had left her character's sixties style behind.

But the aforementioned shade also brought out the colour of her eyes, enhance with some blue eyeliner and glowing cheeks.
The actress also swept her short blonde bob into a side parting which gave her style add volume and va va voom.
She left her two-year old son Xander at home to enjoy the evening with her castmates ahead of the Primetime Emmy Awards on Sunday (22nd).

No. 5: The actress showed off her numerical tattoo which stood out in red on her left ankle
But at the night of the night as she made her way back to her car, January threw on an edgy biker jacket to keep her warm in the cooler autumn air.
And as she walked down towards the waiting SUV, the actress's ankle tattoo was clearly visible on the back of her leg.
The red inking was of the number five, which she first revealed back in 2012 at the Art of Elysium 5th Annual Gala event.

John Hamm was in attendance with his wife, the actress and director Jessica Westfeldt, however he wasn't as clean and shaven as his Mad Men alter-ego.
The actor, who plays Don Draper on the hit show, had a full beard, speckled with grey, which gave him a rugged, yet distinguished edge.
Inspired by the show they star in, Jessica Paré and Abigail Spencer wore vintage-looking strapless gowns in black tulle and floral crepe.

On Tuesday, the Los Angeles Times reported that the finale will be broken up into two parts. The first half of the season, titled, The Beginning, will air in spring 2014. The second, The End Of An Era, will air in spring 2015.
'This approach has worked well for many programs across multiple networks, and, most recently for us with 'Breaking Bad,' which attracted nearly double the number of viewers to it's second-half premiere than had watched any previous episode,' said AMC President Charlie Collier.

Mad Men series six premiere with newcomer Teyonah Parris

Welcome to our Mad (Men) world! Newcomer Teyonah Parris stands out from castmates in stunning fitted dress at series premiere

|
It must be daunting joining the already established cast of a well-respected and critically-acclaimed TV show.
But if Teyonah Parris was nervous about joining her Mad Men castmates at the series six premiere of the programme in Los Angeles on Wednesday night, she certainly didn't show it.
The actress sported a stunning fitted dress and wore her black hair piled high on top of her head to create a dramatic effect as she joined January Jones, Christina Hendricks and Jon Hamm among others at the event.

Teyonah plays Hamm's Don Draper's new secretary Dawn Chambers in the show, and said in a previous interview with New York magazine that she tried not to feel under pressure to play one of the first black characters in the show.
The star, who has previously appeared in shows including The Good Wife, said: 'I know that this show hasn’t had an African-American in the office and I know that comes with a lot of responsibility as to how I portray this woman, but I can’t think about that. I can only go in and do what I think this woman would do.
'I try not to think, "Oh, I have to represent every single black person in the world that was there in the sixties." All-star cast: Teyonah is thought to have a much bigger role as Don Draper's secretary Dawn Chambers for the sixth season of the show

'I have to tell this one woman’s story and what that was for her. I’m kind of on the fence because as a black actress, there aren’t a lot of roles out there for us, and so you see a great show and it’s like,
'Oh wow, I would love to be on that show. Oh, but there are no black people on it. So that part is frustrating and I understand that, but at the same time I don’t expect to be a part of everyone’s story if it’s not true to the story that they’re trying to tell.'
But while Teyonah certainly courted attention in her dramatic outfit, she had some competition from her equally stunning castmates.
What would Peggy think? Meanwhile, Elizabeth Moss would have surely shocked her Mad Men alter ego Peggy Olson with her daringly low-cut dress which displayed plenty of cleavage

January, who plays icy Betty Draper in the show, displayed her long slender legs in a cream and blue spliced dress with sheer hemline.
The drop waist skirt of the attire was completely see-through, but featured extra layers of fabric at the back to conceal her modesty.
While the whimsical item complemented January's pale skin tone, the design of the dress looked almost more appropriate for the ballroom or an ice-skating ring.

Hollywood's leading ladies on the SAG Awards red carpet

The black and white of it! Claire Danes, Anne Hathaway Julianne Moore and Sofia Vergara lead the way as Hollywood's leading ladies go mad for monochrome on SAG Awards red carpet

|

With the alcohol fuelled fun of the Golden Globes behind them and the stiff old Oscars just a month away, the stars turned to the SAG Awards on Sunday night for another round of backslapping and merriment.
And while this poor cousin of the really glamorous events can't lay claim to be the sexiest ceremony around, the 19th annual awards held at LA's Shrine auditorium managed to at least plenty of red carpet inspiration.
Holding back the major frocks for the Oscars, the overriding trend was a wall of monochrome as seen on leading ladies Anne Hathaway, Julianne Moore and Claire Danes.

And it was a wise one to follow as the black and white gowns grabbed attention against the red carpet, while Jessica Chastain - who dressed in a similar red - almost disappeared.
Anne Hathaway and Nicole Kidman opted for dark and dramatic gowns; with the latter embracing the trend for midnight black.
Hathaway, who accepted the award for Best Supporting Actress, looked incredible in a prom style Giambattista Valli gown which used layers of diaphanous black material over a shorter skirt.

Speaking to People.com before the event, the Diagnosis Murder star said: 'This was a surprise. People think of me as a song and dance entertainer. To be accepted by my peers as an actor is really a thrill.'
The actor also revealed that he will be celebrating his seven-year anniversary with his 41-year-old wife Arlene, who he first met at the 2006 SAG Awards, where she was working as a make-up artist.
He said: 'There was something about her beautiful eyes.'
The couple married in a 'spur of the moment' ceremony in Malibu, California, on February 29 last year.
