Cat Deeley shares her beauty secrets on the set of an amazing underwater photoshoot

Cat Deeley: Water babe! The presenter shares her beauty secrets on the set of an amazing underwater photoshoot

We are used to seeing beautiful presenter Cat Deeley posing for glamorous photoshoots, but these new pictures show the LA-based blonde as we have never seen her before: submerged in water sparkling like a modern day mermaid.
Newly-wed cat is famous for her golden mane of hair and as ambassador for hair care brand Pantene has posed for the underwater shoot to promote the company's latest product offering.
31-year-old Cat spent the day swimming and pouting in sequins in a huge purpose built tank with a diving team and her hairstylist for company.

In one of the exclusive pictures Birmingham-born Cat looks in to the camera lens as she is fully submerged in the water and her hair swirls around her.
In the second image Cat wears a shimmering gold shift dress as she appears to be gliding through the water.
Cat said: 'This is one of the most intense, yet exciting shoots I have ever done.
'I was lucky to have my stylist Peter Lux in the tank with me to make me feel at ease, and to help move my hair around so I could concentrate on breathing and ultimately striking the right pose!
'I’ve never done anything like this before!  It was such a new and exciting experience.  Peter jumped in as well to help with the ‘swishing’ of the hair in the water.  It made the whole experience really fun and enjoyable.
'We wanted to show hair at its most weightless form, so what better way to do that than going underwater!  I went in with a professional diving team and they all made me feel at ease.  Once I got the hang of it, I didn’t want to get out!'

    CAT DEELEY'S BEAUTY SECRETS REVEALED

Q: What is your normal beauty regime?
A: I’m a low maintenance girl.  I try to do very little when I don’t have to. I find that if I have regular ‘maintenance’ treatments, I can be ready to go out in 5 minutes.  I get my hair coloured, have regular massages, and love getting my lashes tinted and my brows shaped.  Plus heaps of exercise, and as much sleep as possible. That way when I’m going out all I have to do is slick on some gloss, and a bit of blush and I am ready to go! Of course the LA sun helps too.

Q: What are your top beauty tips?
A: Less is more. If I don’t have to wear make-up, I don’t.  If there’s no real reason to have my hair ‘done’, I leave it.  To keep it looking healthy, I ensure its properly shampooed and conditioned every time I wash it. I think if you look after yourself on a regular basis, and do the prep beforehand, you don’t need to put lots of effort into looking good. It’s about finding the right balance – if you have a good diet, drink lots of water, exercise regularly and sleep, you won’t look bad on a regular basis. Then you can afford the occasional naughty slip up once in a while, going out and having a delicious glass of wine with friends, having a great laugh and chat then realizing its 2am isn’t so bad – you’ve put in the hard work!

Q: What are your staple items in your bathroom/make up bag?
A: I always have SK-II face masks in the fridge – they are excellent especially if you’ve been on a plane and your skin is puffy. I also love Rodin face oil with jasmine – it’s delicious and gives you a real glow. I always use Chanel eye cream. I go to have my eyebrows waxed and lashes tinted, and then I always curl my eyelashes. I don’t wear much make up, but always have a bit of sheen on my cheeks, curled lashes, mascara and a bit of lip gloss. When it comes to hair styling I use Pantene Pro-V. The new Pantene Pro-V Aqua Light products are perfect for my hair, as it still gives it gorgeous condition but doesn’t weigh it down.

Q: What are your beauty indulgences?
A: Hair colouring. I make sure I have the best: I figure you could spend $800 on an outfit you wear three times, but with your hair it’s there all the time. I also think it is really important to look after your colour once it’s been done. I try and give my hair a really nourishing mask every so often to combat against all the styling. I also love to have beauty treatments that really benefit, like massages.  t’s divine to get up and feel all zen and relaxed.

Q: When were you happiest with your hair?
A: To be honest – right now! I’m not fighting it anymore, not trying to get it poker straight, or cut any trendy fringes . I’m very comfortable with it – I think part of that is being in my 30s, and being comfortable with who I am.

Q: Do you feel different now you are in your 30s?
A: Yes, I think as a woman, the more you embrace who you are, and your own opinions, and how you feel, and the body you have been given- I think the more confident you are and the more beautiful you look. I definitely feel that my confidence has grown as I’ve entered my 30s. I have my own opinion – it’s very valid – and that shows on the outside as well.

Q: Do you ever have bad hair days?
A: Yes! Ponytails and hats and sunglasses are key!
