Girl power for 2013: Singer *A*M*E, model Erin McNaught and Bono's girl Eve Hewson top industry list of women to watch next year

    Next year's celebrity movers, shakers and headline-makers have been named in a industry hot list for 2013.

Returning for its seventh year, the annual Red Pages Hot 100 names the up-and-coming talent to watch in the world of film, TV, music, fashion, sport and literature.
The talent roster includes musicians Tom Odell, Palma Violets, Nina Nesbitt, K Koke and Daley, actors Callan McAuliffe, Sam Reid, Jessica Knappett and Samantha Barks, models Rosie Tapner and Erin McNaught, sportsmen Kyle Edmund and Raheem Sterling and author Colette McBeth.

2012's Hot 100 predicted big things from the likes of Lana Del Rey, Jonnie Peacock, DJ Fresh, Skrillex and Joshua Bowman, all of whom have enjoyed breakout, award-winning success over the last 12 months - 2013's names are tipped for similar acclaim.

A*M*E
Sierra Leone-born singer, real name Amy Kabba, signed to Gary Barlow’s record label. Supporting JLS, Jessie J, The Wanted and Olly Murs on tour, performing at the Olympic boxing final and releasing her debut single Play the Game Boy are among her 2012 highlights. For 2013, Amy has secured TV appearances in a BBC special VIP People following her journey to pop stardom, Sam & Mark’s Friday Wind-Up and Princess Productions’ The Johnny and Inel Show. She’s also currently working on her debut album, due for release next year.

Erin McNaught
30-year-old Australian model, actress and presenter. She is engaged to British rapper Example and in 2012, relocated to the UK. Now signed to Insanity, she has some exciting TV opportunities in the pipeline and is focusing on presenting and modelling.

    Little Nikki
    16-year-old former Soundgirl singer, aka Nicole Shortland, who has been described as ‘Rihanna-meets-Azealia Banks’. She supported Rita Ora and Rizzle Kicks on tour in 2012, and is currently recording with K-Gee (All Saints, Jessie J) for her debut album out next year. Tipped as the next big thing by the likes of NME and Q Online, and shortlisted for MTV’s Brand New for 2013.
    Eve Hewson
    Actress daughter of U2’s Bono. Eve received rave reviews for her role in This Must Be The Place, in which she starred opposite Sean Penn. In 2013 she stars alongside Toni Collette, Catherine Keener and James Gandolfini in an as-yet-untitled Nicole Holofcener project, in addition to Blood Ties opposite Mila Kunis, Marion Cotillard and Zoe Saldana.

    Georgia King
    Scottish actress who stars in The New Normal, the latest offering from Glee creator, Ryan Murphy. The show has earned strong reviews in the US and is set to air on E4 in 2013. Upcoming projects include Austenland, in which she stars alongside Keri Russell and Jane Seymour.
    Gabrielle Aplin 
    20-year-old singer-songwriter from Wiltshire who gained fame in late 2012 for her cover of Frankie Goes To Hollywood’s The Power of Love, which was featured in the John Lewis Christmas ad. With over 60,000 self-released EPs sold and 10 million views on YouTube, Gabrielle’s next single, Please Don’t Say You Love Me (February 10), and her spring debut album are highly anticipated releases. In addition, she supports Ed Sheeran on live dates in Australia and New Zealand in March.

    Laura Mvula
    Birmingham-born, RCA signing Laura is already causing industry and consumer buzz following the November release of her debut single She, which has received over 56,000 YouTube views to date and was named one of Zane Lowe’s ‘Next Hype’ tracks and Fearne Cotton’s ‘Big Thing’ on BBC Radio 1. In December, she was named on the shortlist for the BRITs Critics Choice Award (winner announced on December 20). The classically trained composer is currently working with producer Tom Elmhirst (Amy Winehouse, Adele, Lily Allen) on her debut album, due for a spring 2013 release.
    Mia Goth
    19-year-old British model and actress who has been signed to Storm Model Management since she was 15. Mia makes her film debut in 2013, starring as P opposite Shia LaBeouf in Lars von Trier’s new feature film Nymphomaniac. She has also been touted as one to watch by i-D online.

    Nina Nesbitt
    18-year-old Scottish singer Nina supported Example and Ed Sheeran on their respective UK and European 2012 tours (at their request), and joined Rizzle Kicks on a string of November live dates. After signing to Island Records, she has just completed a solo UK tour and is currently recording her debut album, co-produced with Jake Gosling (Paloma Faith, Wiley, Ed Sheeran), due to drop early next year.

    Jessica Knappett
    Described by The Independent as ‘the next Lena Dunham’, Jessica writes and stars in new E4 sitcom Drifters, which has been touted as ‘the female version of The Inbetweeners’.
    Quote: ‘2013 sees a huge wave of new talent breaking out, with females leading the way bringing ‘girl power’ to TV, film, music, fashion, literature and new media. From 9-year-old Oscar tip Quvenzhané Wallis (also featured on the Hot 100) to actress/TV writer and ‘next Lena Dunham’, Jessica Knappett, there are plenty of exciting fresh faces to look out for.’
