I'm a Celeb Jungle Queen Charlie Brooks was on the verge of quitting

'I really did feel guilty': Jungle Queen Charlie Brooks was on the verge of quitting after cruel stunt was pulled on her daughter

She's just been crowned Queen of the Jungle, but it might have been a very different ending to the show for Charlie Brooks.
The EastEnders actress, who looked overjoyed to have won this year's I'm A Celebrity last night, was on the verge of quitting after the cruel trail that ITV bosses organised, involving her daughter, Kiki.
After missing out on seeing her daughter during a mini-trial, Charlie was left devastated and almost walked before the last few days.

'I was cut up pretty bad about it. I really did feel guilty,' Charlie was reported as saying in the Daily Star Sunday.
Even fellow campmate David Haye expected her to quit the show after the cruel trick was pulled by ITV bosses, saying:
'She was really upset about it. She wanted to be with her daughter. I thought she might leave,'
Charlie's seven-year-old daughter was hiding behind a door during the mini-trial, without the star knowing about it.

She then had to pick one of five doors to open, without knowing what was behind each one, but failed to pick the one with her daughter behind it.
Little Kiki was allegedly left traumatised after the trial and failing to see her mum, leaving with the jungle with presenter Dec.
'It felt like someone had taken a boot and kicked me in the guts. I didn’t even think having a member of family behind the door would have been an option. This is heartbreaking,' Charlie said after she realised what she had missed out on.
The soap star was shocked to realise that she had won the show last night, beating former Pussycat Doll Ashley Roberts.

Speaking to hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly after winning, she said: '(It feels) silly. I never imagined this for a million years.
'Everyone's been amazing. David was our king down there. Eric with the fire. Everyone down there played their role.'
Former Pussycat Doll Ashley was a gracious runner-up, admitting she was stunned she had got so far in the competition.
She said: 'I have gotten beyond what I ever expected. I'm so proud of myself.'
