Kym Lomas stuns in sheer and plunging black gown as she attends the Royal Television Society Awards

She’s a sexy soap star! Kym Lomas stuns in sheer and plunging black gown as she attends the Royal Television Society Awards

She spends most of her days dressed down in often questionable outfits playing Michelle Connor on Coronation Street.
So it’s no surprise that Kym Lomas fancied having a bit of a Cinderella moment when she attended the Royal Television Society Awards at the Grosvenor House Hotel on Tuesday evening.
The 36-year-old looked like she had left the Cobbles well and truly behind as she swept along the carpet in a full-length but very sexy black gown.

The mum-of-two stunned in the low-cut dress with cross-detail straps that gave a subtle glimpse of her cleavage.
As the dress continued it turned sheer in the leg area, giving a little peak of her pins.
Kym’s jet black hair had been curled and styled on top of her head, meaning the great shoulder detail of the dress was on show.

She completed the screen siren look with lashings of black eye-liner and metallic nail-varnish.
Clearly delighted with her appearance the former singer tweeted a snap of the finished result before hitting the award show.
She wrote: ‘Almost ready for RTS awards!! Come on corrie!!!!’

Before adding: ‘Thank you to @lorrainestylist for styling me this evening!!! Genius woman!! Genius!! Xxx’
The awards show recognises excellence across a range of programme making and broadcasting skills and is hosted by comedian Jo Brand.
Although Coronation Street is up for an award the BBC have lead the way with nominations,  scooping an incredible 44 of the available 75 nominations in 25 categories.

ITV, the channel which Corrie is on, claimed nine nominations in total, with seven for the main channel, one for ITV2 and one for STV.
A whole host of TV’s finest attended the ceremony, many to support their own shows.
Others however just came to watch others pick up awards, such as Melanie Sykes.

The engaged TV personality may not have been nominated for anything herself but she could have won prizes when it came to her outfit as she looked great in a red ensemble.
The bright top and skirt combination worked brilliantly alongside her dark locks, while she showed off her slim legs wearing no tights and strappy heels.
Actress of the moment Sheridan Smith brought the sex appeal in a skintight black leather dress, with lace detail.

Her ample cleavage was on display and her blonde locks were styled off her face in a bouffant up-do.
It’s not surprising that Sheridan fancied dressing up as she is nominated for best actress at the awards.
She is up for her role in Mrs Biggs and is up against Anne Marie Duff and Olivia Colman.

Anne Marie, has been nominated for her role in Accused, as is her co-star Olivia.
The two actresses cut chic figures as they posed for pictures, with Anne opting for an interesting draped dress and Olivia wearing a flattering pencil skirt.
While Anne was at the awards, her husband James McAvoy was on the other side of London at the premiere of his film Trance, but hopefully the actor will be able to join her later and either help her celebrate or drown her sorrows.

Other guests at the awards included Hollyoaks actresses Stephanie Davis, Jazmine Franks and Anna Shaffer who all wore very different styles.
It was however Anna, who plays Ruby Button on the show, who showed she's got some serious style as instead of flashing the flesh she wore a fashionable monochrome number.
