Little Mix's Jesy Nelson looks unimpressed as Union J singer George Shelley ruins her cake by throwing it at photographers after her birthday party

It's arguably one of the best parts of a birthday celebration.
So Jesy Nelson could be forgiven for looking unimpressed as Union J singer George Shelley used her cake as a weapon against photographers following her party in London on Wednesday night.
The Little Mix singer, who was marking her 22nd birthday, was seen looking less than pleased as George grabbed handfuls of the sweet treat to throw at the paparazzi waiting outside Libertine nightclub.

Jesy put her head in her hands as she observed the action, with George's friend attempting to stop him from entirely ruining the cake with his attempt to be humourous.
The pretty brunette was then seen looking thoroughly disgruntled as the remnants of the cake was handed to her inside the car.
But George appeared unconcerned about Jesy's reaction, and apparently continued his cake play inside the cab.

As the group were seen arriving at the May Fair Hotel later in the evening, Jesy's exit from the car drew attention to the crumbs and icing all over the car floor and seats.
However, George's fun didn't stop there as the cake was later seen after being dropped on the floor outside the hotel.
While it's not clear whether or not it was George who dropped it, staff at the hotel were later seen scraping up the remnants of the cake off the pavement, and putting it into a rubbish bag.

George's actions come after he admitted to having a huge crush on Jesy, who is believed to still be dating Diversity star Jordan Banjo, in October last year.
Asked in an interview about the girls they fancied, George told Now magazine: 'Jesy from Little Mix. Please put that, so I can meet her.'
Wednesday night's party was a double celebration for both Jesy's birthday and the girls' recent success on the Billboard charts.

Clearly having enjoyed the evening, Jesy later wrote on Twitter: 'Actually had the most amazing night was sooo funny love all my friends and family so much <3 Jesy xxxx'
Jesy looked incredible in a cropped black and white striped top and figure-hugging pencil skirt for the occasion as she joined her bandmates for a few pictures outside the club.
Perrie Edwards went for a Grecian-style look in a white and gold maxi dress, while Jade Thirlwall highlighted her slim figure in a minidress with a beaded black necklace.

Leigh-Anne Pinnock's ensemble was perhaps the most glamorous of them all as she showed off her toned physique in a plunging black dress with a thigh-high split.
She finished off her look with a pair of sky-high heels and bright green nail varnish, wearing her hair in volumised curls for the celebration.
It was recently announced that the girls' debut album DNA debuted at number four in the Billboard Top 200.

The chart position is the latest indication that the quartet are set to replicate their UK success Stateside.
Their success even eclipses that of the Spice Girls, who only managed to score a top 7 when they released their first record Spice in 1997, reaching the number 6 spot.
And speaking about Little Mix's success to Billboard.com, Jade explained that the group's girl power message had been inspired by the Spice Girls.

She said: 'When we were younger, we had the Spice Girls and groups like that to look up to, that had this really empowering message and made you feel really good about yourself.
'And I think it's kind of about time that it was brought around again.'
