Ariana Grande gets trapped by fans at Amsterdam airport as she prepares to host backstage at the MTV EMA awards

That's a Grande entrance: Singer Ariana Grande gets trapped by fans at Amsterdam airport as she prepares to host backstage at the MTV EMA awards

When singer Ariana Grande touched down at Amsterdam airport on Saturday, she didn't seem to be expecting too much of a welcome.
But as she flew in ahead of the MTV EMA awards on Sunday night, where she will be presenting backstage, the star was bombarded by eager fans who turned up to catch a glimpse of her.
She's a popular choice at the moment and not only is she hosting the show, the 20-year-old is also up for the 2013 Artist On The Rise Award against singers, Lorde and Austin Mahone.

The Baby I singer looked pretty with her brunette hair tied up in ringlets as she arrived in Amsterdam.

She wore a pink checked cape coat over a cream jumper dress with rabbits on the elbows and skyscraper white stilettos heels which would have helped her to see over the crowds.
She carried two phones with her. Presumably one was for calls and the other was for taking pictures of the huge crowds which Ariana first spotted behind a glass window.

Ariana did not seem to have any of her own security with her and despite the efforts of airport staff to assist her in getting out of the venue, the police were eventually called for safety reasons.
They guided Ariana as hundreds of fans crushed her as they tried to get up close and get a photo or an autograph of themselves with the up-and-coming performer.
But the happy starlet took it all in her stride, despite the fact she was wearing precariously high heels and she smiled and blew kisses to the crowds.

As she made her way out, she tried to scrawl her name on signed photos for as many fans as she could in a bid not to disappoint them after they had made the effort to wait for her.
But It was all too much for one girl who sat slumped outside the airport in tears next to a teddy bear and later had to be comforted by a friend.
Ariana seemed to take the crazy experience in her stride and later Tweeted: 'Amsterdam thank you so much for the warm welcome and all the hugs... :) Please stay safe, I love you.'

Ariana must have been a huge fan of her look as she later changed her coat to a very similar pink checked one as she left her hotel.
It had longer sleeves than the one she wore earlier and it was a slightly darker print.
The cute singer also added some pink fluffy gloves into the mix and a gorgeous white fluffy collar which had a black bow tie on it.
The fashion-savvy girl also wore a Louis Vuitton holdall across her body which had a neon orange print emblazoned on it. She stuck with the high white stilettos that she had worn earlier in the day.

No doubt she'll do a sterling job at the MTV EMA awards.
The pretty girl has already showcased her talents in August at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards pre-show where she wowed with a medley of her hits The Way and Baby I.
Her star has risen fast and she's also happiy dating The Wanted singer, Nathan Sykes. Their fans, or shippers, as they are known, have fondly given them the joint moniker, Nariana.

The couple confirmed their romance earlier this year after the Sam and Cat actress recruited The Wanted star to appear on her debut number one album.
Ariana's a busy girl at the moment. Her latest single starring Big Sean called Right There is released on November 11
She's also promised to release a new song every week in the build up to Christmas and wrote on her Twitter page:
