Sophie Ellis-Bextor comes in fourth place as she leaves Strictly Come Dancing

'I didn't come here to win, I came here to dance': Sophie Ellis-Bextor comes in fourth place as she leaves Strictly Come Dancing

The judges might have put Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Brendan Cole in third place on Saturday night's Strictly Come Dancing's final show but that wasn't enough to save her from the public vote.
On the second live show of the evening, Sophie was voted off the show meaning she came in fourth place. She seemed happy and said: 'I didn't come here to win, I came here to dance.'
Earlier in the evening, Sophie stunned when the judges selected the Viennese Waltz from musicals week for the couple to dance.

They danced to the tune of My Favourite Things by Julie Andrews. Sophie wore a long white bridal-style dress with a glittery belt while Brendan wore a grey suit with tails.
Brendan picked Sophie up at the end and told her: 'You were amazing. Absolutely amazing,' while her mother Janet Ellis sobbed in the audience.
Judge Darcey Bussell was blown away and said: 'You looked so much more comfortable in the hold... it was a pleasure to watch.'

Len Goodman loved it too: 'It was all there, natural rotation... I loved the pivets and the lovely whimsical feel to the dance. Last time I had an issue with your body and that was all sorted out.'
Bruno Tonioli was mesmerised and said: 'God you can spin my head, girl. You captured the style so well. Cecil Beaton would be proud of your interpretations.'
But Craig Revel Horwood was booed when he said: 'I think your posture let you down slightly... but you move as one.'
The couple scored 39.
For the second half of the show, the couple danced their show dances and host Tess Daly said 'the rules are... there are no rules.'

Sophie and Brendan were last to perform their Showdance in the second half of the show to Whitney Houston's I Wanna Dance With Somebody.
The singer looked amazing with long hair extensions and a raspberry showstopper of a dress. Brendan wore a black shirt and trousers which made Sophie stand out all the more.
Len said: 'I liked the lifts and I liked the energy. Sophie, you can do no more than give your all and I could see you were doing that.'

The pair scored a middling 35.
Overall, Natalie was top of the leader board, followed by Abbey, Sophie and then Susanna.
