Welsh wonder! Katherine Jenkins stuns in sweeping midnight blue for one-off performance beneath the shadow of St. Paul's
She has an imminent engagement with Royalty having been named in the Queen’s New Year Honours list, but casual observers could be forgiven for thinking they were in the presence of blue blooded aristocracy when Katherine Jenkins stepped out in London on Saturday evening.
Indeed, the Welsh mezzo-soprano looked every inch the princess in a sweeping midnight blue gown from British designer Suzanne Neville ahead of her one-off performance on behalf of the latest Martell Very Special Nights event.
The off-the-shoulder design enabled Katherine, 33, to show off a very generous portion of cleavage, while its glossy sheen caught the eye as she sashayed into French eatery Brasserie Blanc – where she played host alongside owner Raymond Blanc.
Here she comes: Katherine Jenkins looks every inch the princess as arrives at London restaurant Brasserie Blanc for an intimate performance on behalf of Martell Special Nights
Located beneath the shadow of St. Paul's Cathedral, Blanc’s restaurant is currently providing an adequate setting for the event on behalf of 300-year old cognac brand Martell, with food provided by the Michelin Star chef.
Taking to the stage on Saturday evening, Katherine delighted those in attendance -amongst them a smattering of family members - with a sparkling performance before posing for a series of cheerful snaps that later appeared on her Twitter feed.
Tweeting alongside one such picture she wrote: ‘Fabulous night with the incredible @raymond_blanc & my family at Brasserie Blanc… #MartellVerySpecialNights.’

Katherine was named on the New Year honours list thanks to her contribution to the arts -allied with numerous visits to British troops serving in Afghanistan.
A palace source told The Sun: ‘Ms Jenkins has been a fine ambassador for the arts, good causes, our troops and the nation. This is a thoroughly well-deserved honour – Her Majesty is delighted to bestow.’
Speaking about performing in Camp Bastion, the singer said: ‘It is an immense honour to be able to perform for the men and women of our Armed Forces and I will continue to do so for as long as they want me to.’

British Forces Foundation Chief Executive Mark Cann said: ‘Katherine’s commitment to the Armed Forces and willingness to come to places such as Camp Bastion, time and time again, is utterly brilliant. She is a star.’
But not everything’s been plain sailing for the singer - during her first visit to Iraq in 2005, while travelling to Shaibah the largest British base in Southern Iraq, the helicopter she was travelling in was targeted by missiles.
This OBE won’t be the singer’s first outstanding achievement; six out of seven of Katherine’s studio albums have reached number one in the UK classical charts and she became the first British classical crossover artist to have two number one albums in the same year.
The singer was dubbed ‘The new Forces’ Sweetheart’ after singing with Dame Vera Lynn at the 60th Anniversary of VE Day concert in 2005 – an honour she holds close to her heart.
