Selena Gomez arrives solo at iHeartRadio Music Awards... as Justin Bieber posts picture with Ariana Grande

Selena Gomez skips the red carpet after arriving solo at iHeartRadio Music Awards... as Justin Bieber posts picture with her pop rival Ariana Grande

Selena Gomez was rather tellingly without apparent off-again boyfriend Justin Bieber as she attended the first annual iHeartRadio Music Awards at LA's Shrine Auditorium on Thursday.
Following a tumultuous few weeks in which she reportedly had a falling out with Kendall and Kylie Jenner, ditched all her celebrity pals on Instagram and once again called it quits with her 20-year-old beau, the stunning star also chose not to walk the red carpet but rather sneak in quietly through the back entrance.
Indeed, the 21-year-old appeared a little out of sorts as the cameras caught up with her backstage before she presented an award during the evening's festivities, her usual upbeat, peppy energy clearly missing.

Surely not helping matters was the fact that Justin chose that same night to send a message to Selena's pop rival Ariana Grande, who is labelmates with Bieber on Scooter Braun's School Boy Records.
'congrats @arianagrande on your number 1 song. #arianabieberduet ??' he captioned a flashback photo of himself in a recording studio with the pocket rocket who has vocals to rival original diva Mariah Carey.
The 20-year-old's new single, Problem, featuring Australian singer Iggy Azalea, topped the iTunes charts upon its release on Monday and is already holding strong at number one in as many as 22 countries, while the Nickelodeon star took to the stage for an energetic performance during the iHeartRadio Music Awards.
Best-dressed: While she may not have been up to walking the red carpet in the wake of her recent dramas, the 21-year-old looked as stunning as ever in her maroon Cushnie et Ochs ensemble which exposed just the right amount of toned and tanned skin, paired with sleek, straight locks and bronze make-up

Warm reception: The Come & Get It singer was greeted by raucous applause and cheers from the crowd as she took to the stage to present during the evening's festivities

While Selena may not be feeling her best in the wake of her recent dramas, she once again hit it out of the park when it came to her outfit choice.
The petite brunette showed off just the right amount of flesh as she bared her midriff, a hint of cleavage and her enviably toned pins in her striking ensemble.
She paired a maroon Cushnie et Ochs high-waisted flirty skater skirt with a matching long-sleeved cropped top featuring a teardrop cut-out design on the chest.
'iheart filterz': Selena posted a photo to Instagram as she made her way to the event, in which she appeared uncharacteristically down and even a little sad as she gazed into the camera with a stoney-faced expression following reports she's once again ditched boyfriend Justin Bieber

She added some height to her frame with pale pink pointy Jimmy Choo stilettos and opted for only minimal accessories consisting of several dainty rings.
Her long glossy chestnut tresses were worn in a sleek, straight style that reached all the way down to her stomach, while her make-up was decidedly understated, featuring golden dewy skin and a light swipe of black mascara.
Certainly her more natural state contributed to making her appear out of her element.

As Selena made her way to the venue earlier that afternoon, she posted a selfie to Instagram in which she was stoney-faced as she gazed into the camera.
She simply captioned the image: 'iheart filterz.'
Proving she's ever the professional, when it came time to hit the stage, the star summoned her strength, planted a smile on her face and delivered her lines to perfection much to her fans' delight.
