'I just assumed': Idina Menzel fuels talk that Frozen sequel could be on the way during Today show appearance

Idina Menzel voiced the part of Elsa, The Snow Queen in last year's holiday hit Frozen and fans have been begging for a return to winter wonderland ever since.
The 43-year-old Broadway star sparked more hope of a sequel when she dropped by the Today show on Monday to sing and chat.
Idina, who looked festive in a black and red patterned frock, smiled when asked if a continuation of the story was in the works.

'You know, I have no idea - I just assumed that because it's so successful that's what they're up to,' Idina said.
The singing sensation similarly caused a wave of hope following a recent interview with The Telegraph, in which she said a second feature was 'in the works... hopefully.
'We’ll see. I’m just going along for the ride,' she added.

One would think it's only logical after Frozen grossed $1.27 billion worldwide and took home Oscars for best animated feature and best original song for Let It Go.
Studio honchos insisted earlier this year that a Frozen sequel wasn't on the to do list with Walt Disney Animation Studios executive VP and GM Andrew Millstein telling The Hollywood Reporter: 'There's not a sequel [currently] on the drawing boards.'

And in April, Disney honchos basically repeated that phrase.
Idina, meanwhile, is promoting her lastest album Holiday Wishes that features a duet with Michael Bublé.
She sang one of the holiday favourites Silent Night during her visit to Today.
When asked how she feels about all the success she's had, the Wicked star smilingly replied: 'Some days it feels good and other days it doesn't.
'It feels good this year,' she added. 'I've been at it a long time... When you finally relax and relinquish and be who you are, then things start to happen.'
In her personal life, Idina has a five-year-old son, Walker, with former husband Taye Diggs.
Idina and Taye, who met while both were starring in Rent on Broadway, announced their separation late last year after 10 years of marriage.
