Vanessa Hudgen takes style tips for her historic character Gigi wearing a show stopping Tony Awards gown featuring a dramatic bustle

Art imitating life! Vanessa Hudgen takes style tips for her historic character Gigi wearing a show stopping Tony Awards gown featuring a dramatic bustle

Impressively proportioned derrieres are often a feature of red carpets.
But on Sunday night Vanessa Hudgens took shapely behinds to a new level in an impossible to miss gown.
The 26-year-old brought a lot of drama to the very theatrical Tony Awards in New York thanks to her stunning Naeem Khan dress.

The actress was the bell of the ball in the floral halter neck gown with voluminous skit.
While on its own the white pink and yellow gown wowed, when the star turned she revealed the dress featured a bustle.
While now rarely seen, the exaggerated silhouette was very much in vogue during the time when her character Gigi - whom she currently plays in the Broadway musical - lived.

The Colette novel, Gigi, was written in 1944 but was set in La Belle Epoque era Paris or the end of the 19th century.
Vanessa modern re-imagining of the style was show stopping but the former high School Musical star was not done there.
With the help of her style team, the star made her look even more glamorous with a gold Rodo clutch and jaw dropping rings by Norman Silverman Diamonds.

With the dress already stealing so much attention, Vanessa's makeup was simple - but still with some drama - featuring defined brows and red statement lips.
Already winning top points on the red carpet, the actress also impressed inside the Radio City Musical Hall joining her Gigi castmates to perform a song from her Broadway musical.
While the musical and Vanessa were not nominated for any awards, her co-star Victoria Clark was up for a Tony for Best Performance By An Actress in a Featured Role in a Musical.
