Where will you be rocking or raving this summer? Guide to the UK's summer festivals 2015

It’s nearly time for the UK summer festival season to kick off.
However, with now more festivals than ever before, it means there’s something for everyone. It’s not all about the music with theatre, food, comedy and poetry being included in many of the bills.
For those who don’t like camping, there’s also plenty of choice who like their home comforts with a wide choice of daytime festivals.

6 - 7 June : Parklife 
Where: Heaton Park, Manchester
Manchester’s biggest music event is one of the first of the summer season. Two day festival across nine stages. Acts include Disclosure, Nas, Rudimental, George Ezra, Mark Ronson, Fatboy Slim, Wu Tang Clan, Jessie Ware, FKA twigs, Duke Dumont, Labrinth, Grace Jones and James Bay.
Tickets: Start from £54.50 for a day pass or £89.50 for a weekend pass.

6 - 7 June : Field Day
Where: Victoria Park, East London
Kicking off London's festival season is Field Day. Caribou, FKA Twigs, Django Django, Run The Jewels, Hudson Mohawke, SOPHIE, Chet Faker and Nina Kraviz, Matthew E White, Ride, Patti Smith & her band, Savages, Mac DeMarco, Gaz Coombes, Hookworms, Allah-Las, Viet Cong, DIIV and Eagulls will be performing, while Mercury nominees Jungle will be hosting their own DJ bandstand.
Tickets: Day passes from £43.50-£59.60, weekend passes from £93.

11 – 14 June: Isle Of Wight Festival
Where: Seaclose Park, Isle Of Wight
Huge rock and pop festival returns to the Isle Of Wight for the 13th year in a row. Big names include Blur, Fleetwood Mac, The Black Keys, The Prodigy, Pharrell Williams, Paolo Nutini, Counting Crows, Kool & The Gang, Kodaline, Groove Armada, Billy Idol, The Charlatans, Jess Glynne, Courteneers, Imelda May and many more. As well as the main stages and Big Top, there will also be kids‘ zones, tea rooms and a champagne bar.
Tickets: Weekend tickets £208.20, including camping.

12 - 13 June : Electric Beach
Where: Fistral Beach, Cornwall
Cornwall hosts the UK’s biggest beach party. Electric Beach brings together hip-hop and electronic acts, including The Cat Empire, Alabama 3, Dreadzone, Renegade Brass Band Backbeat Soundsystem and The Velvet Hands.
Tickets: Start from £25 for a day pass or £40 for a weekend pass.

12 - 14 June : Download Festival
Where: Donington Park, Derbyshire
The UK’s biggest rock and metal festival features dozens of acts over four stages. Artists include Slipknot, Judas Priest, Kiss, Muse, Faith No More, Motley Crue, Slash, Billy Idol and many more.
Tickets: 3 day camping £215.

24 - 28 June : Glastonbury Festival
Where: Worthy Farm, Pilton, Somerset
The legendary music festival is back and if you haven’t organised your ticket yet, it’s too late! Acts include Foo Fighters, Kanye West, The Who, Florence And The Machine, Pharrell Williams, Paul Weller, Alt-J, Lionel Richie, Mary J Blige, Paloma Faith, Patti Smith, Suede, Chemical Broters and dozens more. As well as live music, there’s also the Circus & Theatre Fields, kids’ areas and many more areas to keep you occupied.
Tickets: Sold out.

Where: Hyde Park, London.
Series of concerts in the capital’s iconic park across 10 days. Acts include The Strokes, Blur, Kylie Minogue, Beck, Chic feat Nile Rodgers, The Who and Taylor Swift. Also includes other entertainment at the Barclaycard Theatre, Village Hall and Summer Stage.
Tickets: Various prices depending on the act.

3 - 5 July : Wireless Festival
Where: Finsbury Park, London
The annual non-camping festival returns to Finsbury Park for the second year. Headliners include Drake, A$ap Rocky, Major Lazer, Avicii, Kendrick Lamar, Mary J Blige, Knife Party, David Guetta, Nicki Minaj, Jessie J, Clean Bandit, Labrinth, Nero, Duke Dumont, Gorgon City, Conor Maynard, Charli XCX and many more.
Tickets: Day tickets from £68.75.

Where: Glynde Place, Glyndebourne, Lewes, East Sussex
Festival celebrating jazz culture featuring acts such as Van Morrison, Chaka Khan, Larry Graham And Graham Central Station, Rebecca Ferguson, Neneh Cherry, Dianne Reeves, Lisa Stansfield, Candi Staton, Hugh Masekala and Terence Blanchard E-Collective. Also featuring a fairground, record store and Matua sessions.
Tickets: £154 for weekend camping, £126 for weekend no-camping, Day tickets from £66.

3 - 12 July : Ledbury Festival
Where: Ledbury, Herefordshire
The world’s most diverse poetry festival for those who prefer spoken word to music, including Michael Palin CBE, Former Archbishop of Canterbury, Juliet Stevenson and more. Also including Poetry & Belief, Poetry as Protest, Dangerous Women, Desert Island Poems, Japanese Poems, poetry bike rides and Adventure Wonderland.
Tickets: Prices vary depending on act. 

Where: Somerset House, London
Intimate gigs from established names with support from up and coming acts in the courtyard of the capital’s historic Somerset House. Acts this year include Chromeo, Gary Clark Jnr, Passenger, Chronixx, George Ezra, Nick Mulvey, Angus & Julia Stone, James Bay, Kwabs, Belle and Sebastian and Jessie J.
Tickets: £29.50 (plus booking fee).

10 - 12 July : T in the Park
Where: Strathallan Castle, Perthshire
Scotland’s biggest music festival includes a host of top names from rock, pop and dance across six stages and tents. Acts on the bill this year include Kasabian, David Guetta, Sam Smith, Rudimental, Fatboy Slim, Hozier, Mark Ronson, The Wombats, Afrojack, The Libertines, Avicii, The Script, Noel Gallagher‘s High Flying Birds, The Prodigy, Stereophonics, Jamie T, Paloma Faith Clean Bandit, Kodaline and many more. Attractions include Healthy T chill-out zone, fairground, and Fancy Dress Friday competition.

16 - 19 July : Latitude Festival
Where: Henham Park, Southwold, Suffolk
Annual festival which features cabaret, film, book readings, DJs, comedy, political debate and poetry. Among the acts performing include alt-J, Caribou, Portishead, James Blake, Laura Marling, Lianne La Havas, Badly Drawn Boy Performing 'The Hour of Bewilderbeast', Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, Manic Street Preachers, Seasick Steve, The Boomtown Rats, The Vaccines, The Charlatans and many more.
Tickets: Weekend plus camping £200.50, Day tickets £84.50.

17 - 18 July : Lovebox
Where: Victoria Park, London
Popular London music festival returns to East London. Acts include Snoop Dogg, Rudimental, Annic Mac, Hot Chip, Cypress Hill, Jessie Ware, Mark Ronson DJ set, Ella Eyre, Groove Armada DJ set, David Rodigan and many more. Other attractions include face-painting, roller disco, Flash Daddy photo booth and slacklining.
Tickets: Day pass £49.50-£54.50, two-day pass £89.50.

Where: Victoria Park, East London.
A new addition to London's festival calendar, featuring a mix of music, gastro and the arts. Acts performing include Ben Howard, Bombay Bicycle Club, Kurt Vile & The Violators, Roots Manuva, Seun Kuti & Egypt 80 and 2manyDJs. There will also be brass bands, swing dances, folk ceilidhs & hoedowns, a rock n roller disco, Talks, comedy & spoken word, Sunday Papers Live with Tessa Jowell, Zoe Williams, among others, Sunday sports day, Fine arts and crafts workshops, relaxation and wellbeing and fashion and beauty markets.

23 - 27 July : Somersault Festival
Where: Castle Hill Estate, Filleigh, North Devon
Alternative festival for the whole family featuring a lot more than music. Acts include Laura Marling, Bombay Bicycle Club, Passenger, Crystal Fights, The Staves, Imelda May, Laura Doggett, Angus & Julia Stone, Jimmy Cliff and more. Activities on offer include surfing, coasteering, mountain biking, rock climbing, falconry, canoeing, trapeze classes and horse riding. There will also be comedy, theatre, variety, kids' zone, wellbeing and games.

30 July - 2 August: Camp Bestival
Where: Lulworth Castle, Dorset
A music festival for families in the grounds of Lulworth Castle on the Jurassic Coast. This year has a wild theme, with music acts including Underworld, Clean Bandit, Kaiser Chiefs, Professor Green, Wretch 32, Kate Tempest, Bob Geldof, Soul II Soul, Ella Henderson, Level 42, Alison Moyet, Ella Eyre, Buzzcocks, DJ Yoda, The Cuban Brothers and more. Other attractions include comedy, theatre, wellness and spas, puppet shows, walks and many more.

2 - 9 August : Lytham Festival
Where: Lytham St Annes, The Fylde, Lancs
Lancashire’s biggest music festival features gigs, culture and comedy. Acts include Faithless, Billy Ocean, McBusted, Elaine Page, Scouting For Girls, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra with special guests Marti Pellow & Elaine Paige, East 17, 5ive, Vengaboys, Sinitta and Chesney Hawkes.
Tickets: Weekend from £132.50 or individual gig tickets.

5 – 9 August : Boardmasters
Where: Fistral Beach, Newquay and Watergate Bay, Cornwall
Festival across three locations. Headlined by Faithless, Rudimental and Bastille. Other acts include Arrested Development, Clean Bandit, The Darkness, De La Soul, Roni Size Reprazent, Duke Dumont, Everything Everything and Groove Armada. Other attractions include fair, surfing, skate, BMX, evening gigs and surf village.
Tickets: Thu-Sun Camping £139, Day tickets £40.

6 - 9 August : Wilderness Festival
Where: Cornbury Park, Oxfordshire
Wilderness is an alternative to the usual British festival. Situated in the idyllic surrounds of Cornbury Park, Wilderness offers gastronomical feasts, massages, processions, debates, theatre and much more than your usual festival line-up. Music acts performing include Bjork, Ben Howard, George Clinton, Parliament and Funkadelic, Roisin Murphy, Nick Mulvey and Nils Frahm. Chefs Niklas Ekstedt and Raymond Blanc and Angela Hartnett will be creating lavish, bespoke long table banquets, while restaurants Moro, Hix and Petersham Nurseries will also be representing. Providing arts and culture will be the National Theatre Live, Opera Holland Park, Oxford Shakespeare Company. Among the outdoor pursuits and wellbeing includes Horse riding, wild swimming, fly fishing, archery, boating, foraging, Lakeside Spa, The Sanctuary, yoga Classes, Pilates, Massages and Facials.

Major rock and pop festival at two separate venues, with the bills swapping between them on the subsequent day. Acts include Kasabian, Sam Smith, Olly Murs, Hozier, Calvin Harris, Stereophonics, The Script, Ellie Goulding, George Ezra, Clean Bandit, Tom Jones, The Kooks, Paloma Faith, Gregory Porter, Ella Eyre, Andy C, Jessie Ware, Mark Ronson, Maverick Sabre and Example.

Where: Richfield Avenue, Reading and Bramham Park, Leeds
Two large festivals that takes place in Leeds and Reading simultaneously, featuring rock, dance, cabaret and comedy. Acts include Mumford & Sons, Metallica, Alt-J, Bastille, Panic! At The Disco, Metallica, Bring Me The Horizon, The Libertines, Kendrick Lamar, Jamie T, The Maccabees, The Cribs, The Gaslight Anthem and many more.

29 - 30 August: South West Four
Where: Clapham Common, London.
Over 80 of the world’s biggest Djs and electronic acts perform over various stages and tents during the August Bank Holiday Weekend. Acts include Faithless, Eric Prydz, Fatboy Slim, The Smile High Club, Eats Everything, Gorgon City vs Pete Tong, Skrillex, Basement Jaxx Live, Carl Cox vs Loco Dice, Armin Van Buuren and Andy C.
Tickets: Day tickets £60-65, Weekend tickets £112.

10 - 13 September : Bestival 
Where: Robin Hill Country Park, Isle Of Wight
Easily one of the UK's quirkiest festivals. Every year has a different theme, with 2015's being ‘Summer of Love‘, with festivalgoers encouraged to don fancy dress. Music acts include The Chemical Brothers, Underworld, Duran Duran, Tame Impala, the Jacksons, Rudimental, Skrillex, Mark Ronson, Jungle, Jurassic 5, FKA twigs, Gorgon City, Future Islands and many more big names. Other attractions include Blind Date, Films in the Forest, Gospeloke, Musical Bingo, Rave Knitting, Reggaerobics and Wrong Pong.
Tickets: Festival pass plus camping: £195.
