'Calm your knickers': Zayn Malik and Calvin Harris come to blows on Twitter over Taylor Swift retweet

Calvin Harris and Zayn Malik have engaged in a Twitter war over Taylor Swift.
The social media spat began when Malik, 22, retweeted a post critical of Swift's refusal to stream her music on Spotify on Monday.
Scottish DJ Harris, 31, quickly took issue and stepped in to defend his girlfriend - leading to a Twitter war of words that quickly deteriorated.

The feud started when Malik retweeted a post comparing Taylor Swift's refusal to stream her music for free with a quote from Miley Cyrus saying she care about money. 'The difference is astounding,' wrote the poster.
A furious Harris quickly leapt to Swift's defense, writing 'You've made your money? Cool... f*** the 99% of musicians who depend on these services to survive, right? Yeah f*** em.'
He went on: 'If you don't get what it means when a successful artist uses their celebrity to benefit every other musician and songwriter in the industry... then stay out of my f***ing mentions.'

Harris also said that those criticizing Swift didn't understand the issues at stake. Swift famously pulled her music off streaming service Spotify last year, saying they didn't fairly compensate artists.
'While u kids are refresh voting teen choice awards there's some poor f***er in a basement making your new favorite record trying to survive,' he wrote.
'Meaning... stay out of things you don't understand.'
Meanwhile, former One Direction star Malik hit back at Harris, saying he'd made an idiot out of himself by jumping to conclusions.
'@CalvinHarris ha you just made an absolute fool of yourself mate,' adding that it had been a general statement, not a dig at Swift.
'@CalvinHarris you clearly don't understand what I just said either,' and adding: 'So I suggest you calm your knickers before them dentures fall out.'

Both musicians have since deleted many of the offending posts, although Harris did end the exchange by telling Malik it was nothing personal, adding 'best of luck, you've got a great voice.
But Zayn just hit back harder, writing: 'Oh and I write my own s*** d***head'.

The diss may have been related to Malik's ex-fiancee Perrie Edwards, whose girl group Little Mix performed with Taylor at her Santa Clara concert on Saturday.
Malik - who quit One Direction in March - took to Twitter to take a dig at Perrie and Little Mix that same day.
In that post, he asked fans to compare Little Mix's hit single Black Magic with rivals Fifth Harmony's single Worth It.
