Riz Lateef
Riz Lateef is the face of BBC London - presenting the flagship evening news programme at 6.30pm.
She's been named once again as one of London's 'One Thousand Most Influential People' by the Evening Standard .
She also won Media Professional of the Year 2009 at the prestigious Asian Women of Achievement Awards.
Riz has taken many major politicians to task including David Cameron, Nick Clegg, former Chancellor Alastair Darling, former prime minister Tony Blair and the current Mayor of London, Boris Johnson.
She led the coverage of the 2008 mayoral elections separating spin from reality in interviews with Ken Livingstone and Boris Johnson.
She also presents the national 8pm bulletin on BBC One on Fridays, and at times, can be seen anchoring the weekend national news and appearing on the Andrew Marr Show.
Outside broadcasts
She enjoys live outside broadcasting just as much as being in the studio and has anchored many half hour programmes on location.
That includes for the general election, the G20 protests in central London, live from the Olympic Park to mark two years to go until the 2012 Games and a week long series about the Thames - broadcasting from a boat on the river at different locations from Windsor to the Thames Barrier.
Her TV appeal isn't limited to news - she was a reporter for the latest series of BBC Watchdog.
She also joined Clare Balding and the sports team to present BBC One's coverage of the 2010 Boat Race.
She co-hosted the BBC One show 'Road to Beijing: the Olympic Torch comes to London' with four-time gold medallist Matthew Pinsent.
Cheeky
In the past she's been a presenter on the Holiday programme, has appeared with Dawn French in the comedy Wild Wild West and has even popped up on EastEnders!
Riz became the main presenter for BBC London News in 2006 (taking over from Emily Maitlis). Before joining the station she presented and reported for the BBC in the north east and Cumbria. Prior to that she was a reporter for BBC Breakfast travelling up and down the country.
Before journalism, Riz began her media career behind the camera - working as a management consultant. In 1998 Broadcast magazine noted her as one of the television industry's young hotshots.
Riz also has an MBA from a leading business school - and a cheeky sense of humour!
