And now, to mark the landmark anniversary year of Doctor Who, each actor who has taken on the role of the Time Lord have lined up for a celebratory picture.
From the very first Doctor, William Hartnell in 1963, to the most recent incarnation, Matt Smith, each of the actors have been merged together for the collaborative shot.

As well as Hartnell and Smith Patrick Troughton, Jon Pertwee, Tom Baker, Peter Davison, Colin Baker, Sylvester McCoy, Paul McGann, Christopher Ecclestone and David Tennant appear in the shot.
The only actor missing from the shot is Peter Capaldi - who was announced to take over from Matt as the new Doctor next year.
The image of the Time Lords united comes ahead of the 50th anniversary special of the show - The Day Of The Doctor.
Speaking recently about the feature-length episode, head writer and executive producer Steven Moffat praised Matt and David's on-screen chemistry, adding that during filming for the episode the pair got 'giggly with each other' on set.

He told SFX magazine: 'It is ... a tremendous double-act. They're naturally funny together. Enough alike and enough dissimilar.
'They're not broody, upset Doctors. [Matt and David] were having such a good time together that they brought that out.'
Eleventh Doctor Matt - who will make his last appearance in the Christmas episode before Peter takes control of the TARDIS - will be joined by Tenth Doctor David for The Day of the Doctor, and Steven says the eccentric duo's dialogue provides excellent comic value because they are different versions of the same character.
He added: 'When you're talking to yourself there are no limitations, there's no holding back. You wouldn't be kind or courteous.
'At the same time, because they are two lovable, madcap, caffeinated Doctors, they're also quite fanboy-ish about each other.'

The Day of the Doctor also stars Billie Piper, Jenna-Louise Coleman and John Hurt and will air on November 23.
It was recently revealed that BBC Worldwide have struck a deal for to show the special in over 200 UK cinemas, many in 3D.
Moffat said: 'The Doctor has always been a time traveller - now he's travelling time zones. On the 23rd of November, it won't be the bad guys conquering the Earth - everywhere, it will be the Day of the Doctor.'
Tim Davie, chief executive of BBC Worldwide, said: 'Few TV shows can still lay claim to being appointment viewing but Doctor Who takes this to another level.
'In its 50th anniversary year, we wanted to create a truly international event for Doctor Who fans in as many countries as possible and the simultaneous broadcast and cinema screening of the special across so many countries will make for a fitting birthday tribute to our Time Lord.'
