EXCLUSIVE 'It took two helpers to get me in my dress': Tyra Banks reveals how a wardrobe malfunction has inspired her to get in shape this year
Tyra Banks has revealed how a tight-fitting New Year's Eve party dress inspired her to lead a healthier lifestyle in 2014.
In an interview with MailOnline the U.S. size 6 model recalled: 'I had to have two people help me get into the dress, I couldn't zip it up. I had overindulged over the holidays on all of the great food.'
Instead of getting down about the incident, Tyra said she 'laughed it off' and continued on to her party in high spirits. 'I just knew that it was time to start fresh in the New Year,' she added.

As a spokeswoman for Special K's new empowerment campaign to 'ban fat talk', 40-year-old Tyra wants to 'change the conversations women have about themselves.'
'Women say things about themselves they would never say about other people.
'I've heard them say things like ""I'm fat", "I'm disgusting", "I'm gross" but that kind of talk hinders them from reaching their weight loss goals.'
The California native, whose weight has yo-yoed since childhood, says that she inherited a positive body image from her mother, Carolyn.
Time to cut back: The model and media mogul, seen here on January 1, said she had overindulged during the holidays
'My mom was conscious about her body but she didn’t talk negatively about herself or follow strict diets.
'Sometimes she would eat healthier and I would follow her. For example, she would cook a hamburger patty with no bread and put it out with a big salad.
'I really love my neck. People rarely see it because I wear my hair down a lot but it's very, very long'
'Because of that, I didn’t develop restrictive eating habits.'
Tyra says when she's having a 'fat day', she ignores her cellulite and focuses on something positive instead.
'I really love my neck,' she said. 'People rarely see it because I wear my hair down a lot but it's very, very long.'
The 5ft 10in TV personality, who is currently filming the next season of America's Next Top Model, believes that unflattering fitting room lighting is one of the biggest triggers for fat talk.
'Dressing rooms are terrible for women,' she said.
Constant battle: The towering beauty - pictured left in 1998 and right in 2008 - was at her lowest weight in the early 1990s but at her heaviest during the height of her career
'If retailers did something about the bad lighting they would sell so many more clothes because it just exaggerates the bad parts of our body.
'They make people look 80per cent worse than they are.'
She also cites social media as another source of body dissatisfaction.
'The other day I was talking to a friend who had put a photograph on Facebook and someone commented "It looks like you've been eating too many sandwiches".
Far from overweight: The gutsy star flaunted her curvy figure in front of a live studio audience on her talk show in 2007 after unflattering photos emerged of her looking much heavier
Happy to flaunt it: The California native, seen on the catwalk in 2005 (left) and 2000 (right says that she inherited a positive body image from her mother, Carolyn
'People are very vulnerable to criticism nowadays.'
In a bid to slip into her dresses without a hitch, Tyra's hoping to get in shape over the coming year by embracing a balanced diet and exercise.
At the same time she hopes to inspire women to be kinder to themselves through her new partnership with Special K.
'With the right mindset, you can feel so much better about even your least favorite physical attributes,’ she concluded.
