Emma Watson reveals she worries about 'failing' as she talks to Jessica Chastain

'When people call me a role model it puts the fear of God in me': Emma Watson reveals she worries about 'failing' as she talks to Jessica Chastain

If there were ever a way to mix business and pleasure, Emma Watson has certainly found it.
Jessica Chastain interviewed the Beauty And The Beast actress over the phone for the May cover of Interview Magazine, where Watson revealed the remote chat was happening as she took a bath. The interview starts with Jessica asking Emma where she is.
Watson replied, 'I'm thrilled that you asked, because I didn't want things to get weird. I'm in the bath. In Paris. I didn't want you to hear swishing water and be like, 'Uh, what are you doing?''

Emma reveals that she had just finished the photo shoot that would accompany their interview with famed photographer Peter Lindbergh.
The moody black and white shoot features Emma in a series of plaid outfits, walking around the streets of Paris.
Though she has been a child icon since the first Harry Potter film hit theaters in November of 2001, there is a title Emma isn't a fan of: role model.
'When people call me a role model it puts the fear of God into me, because I feel like I’m destined to fail,' she told Chastain.

The 27-year-old actress talks about being in the public eye since she was 11, when she shot to fame as Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter series.
'The three of us—Dan[iel Radcliffe], Rupert [Grint], and I—were kids when we got cast in this fairy-tale series, and what happened to us was kind of a fantasy story in itself. Outside of the movies.'
She adds, 'The story of my life has been of public interest, which is why I’ve been so passionate about having a private identity. When I step into a character, people have to be able to suspend their disbelief; they have to be able to divorce me from that girl.'

'And not having everyone know every single intimate detail of my entire life is part of me trying to protect my ability to do my job well.'
She currently stars in The Beauty And The Beast which is expected to make her the highest paid actress of the year.
As for her role selection process, Emma says, 'People sometimes talk about me as being a brand, having a strategy and whatever else. I wish. Seriously. I wish I had it together enough to have a strategy. But it’s so instinctual.'
Emma also is starring in The Circle with Tom Hanks, where she plays a tech agent who is faced with a decision that will change humanity forever.
'It’s not like a dystopian future—it could be tomorrow. Someone recently said he thought it was The Truman Show meets The Graduate with a dash of Kardashians,' she says of her latest film.
When asked by Chastain how she relaxes, Emma revealed another talent of hers.
'What do I do? I bake. I’m pretty competitive about my chocolate chip banana bread. I don’t think anyone can believe how good it is. It’s really on another level. And I hang out with my cat.'
