She's maintained her fabulous figure by adhering to a regular Pilates routine and healthy diet.

But even Denise Richards splurges on ice cream once in a while and was spotted doing so in San Diego, California, on Wednesday.

The 44-year-old actress delighted in a strawberry cone while putting her impressive physique on display in a New York Jets bikini.

The mother-of-three was cooled off with the sweet treat while sitting on the ledge of an outdoor pool and dipping her feet in the water.

The Wild Things star showed her sporty side in a green, black, and grey string bikini for American football team, the Jets.

Her thick blonde tresses were flowing down past her face that was brightened up with daytime make-up.

She previously told Self magazine: 'I am very active. I found what works for my body - everyone's body is different and I think it's best to find what works for you. For me it's Pilates and dance.

'My diet is 80 percent vegetarian and I eat all day long. I have lots of little meals; it's best for me. I found eating three big meals I felt too full and got tired especially after lunch.

'I eat lots of fruit, veggies, egg whites, oatmeal, a little chicken, eggs, rice - that's mostly my diet. I do splurge on ice cream and I love pretzels.

'My abs get the best workout with my Pilates reformer - I had two C-sections and it was the only thing I found that got my tummy flat.'

Meanwhile, The Wrap recently reported that the ex-wife of Charlie Sheen has joined the cast of Adi Shankar's Gods and Secrets.

She will star alongside Jane Seymour in the project that 'explores the darker ramifications of a world filled with superheroes — for the people they protect and the famous heroes themselves.'

Denise and her ex Charlie are parents to two daughters Sam, 11, and Lola, ten, and later adopted three-year-old daughter Eloise.

And Denise Richards proved that she is more dedicated to her looks than ever as she showed off her toned bikini body while relaxing poolside at the Beverly Hills Hotel in Los Angeles.

The 42-year-old star could have passed for someone half her age as she flashed her envy-inducing physique in a tiny white two-piece.

Showcasing her washboard abs and long, lean limbs, the Wild Things actress looked in fantastic shape as she soaked up the sun at the luxury hotel.

The mother-of-two wore her honey blonde locks scraped back off her face into a high ponytail, and highlighted her gorgeous features by wearing minimal make-up.

Denise seemed to be in high spirits as she enjoyed her day of relaxation, waving away to her friends and snapping pictures of them on her iPhone.

Being able to enjoy a spot of alone time was no doubt a welcome break for the star, who has been rushed off her feet in recent weeks.

The star - who has daughters Sam, nine, and Lola, eight - became the temporary guardian of her ex-husband Charlie Sheen and Brooke Mueller's twin sons, Bob and Max, earlier this month.

Brooke, 35, is currently being treated in the Betty Ford Clinic for her 20th stay in rehab, and her drug addiction will be thoroughly investigated ahead of a June 4 hearing which will determine who will have care of the twins for the next six months.

She is no stranger to striking a pose in a bikini and it appears that is the most taxing task for Denise Richards.

The 41-year-old actress was doing what she does best in her backyard in LA yesterday.

Denise showed off her impressive bikini body in a mulit-coloured striped two-piece as she relaxed in the sunshine.

The blonde was seen taking a dip in the pool, playing in the rocks and enjoying a bowl of berries as she hammed things up for the photographer.

While the actress is clearly capable of posing for a catalogue-style cheesy shoot she has been busying herself with something requiring a little more skill.

Denise recently landed a role on teen show 90210 to mark its 100th episode and the actress has been posting a series of backstage shots to keep her fans up to date.

Having been cast on The CW series as 'a sexy, wealthy socialite', Denise portrays West Beverly High graduate Gwen, who heads an exclusive club that Naomi (AnnaLynne McCord) wants to join.

That is, until she realises this women's group is just a grown-up version of a Mean Girls clique.

And now Denise Richards has revealed the secret behind her slim figure - specialist weight loss trousers.

The 41-year-old actress was photographed wearing a pair of Zaggora Viva HotPants - believed to also be favoured by stars including Tess Daly - as she went for a run in Los Angeles earlier this week.

Limbering up: Denise teamed the trousers with a cropped white bra top to show off her enviable figure

Denise teamed the blue and orange half-length trousers with a cropped white bra-top to show off her washboard stomach and muscular physique.

The mother-of-three finished her outfit off by wearing her long blonde hair tied in a loose side ponytail, and clutched a bottle of water to ensure she stayed hydrated throughout her workout.

Just as with the original HotPants and the rest of the Zaggora range, the summer bright Viva HotPants range target the thighs, stomach and bottom, and claim they can help wearers lose two jean sizes in two weeks.

A host of glamorous stars lit up the red carpet at the CMT Music Awards this evening.

And it was something of a battle of the blondes as Kristen Bell, Denise Richards and Hayden Panettiere all competed in the style stakes.

Kristen Bell was the host of the country music event, held in Nashville, Tennessee.

So the House of Lies actress went all out in a stunning golden gown by Reem Acra that trailed on the floor as she walked.

The 31-year-old posed up with her Parenthood actor fiancé Dax Shepard, who also dressed to the nines in a sparkling suit.

Bond Girl Denise Richards rivalled Kristen by parading her enviable pins in a sequined mini dress by Alice + Olivia by Stacey Bendet.

The cream colour of the frock accentuated the 41-year-old’s golden tan and she accessorised with glittering gold pumps and lashings of scarlet lipstick.

Meanwhile Hayden Panettiere looked adorable in a black floral top and cream swing skirt, which she topped off with classic black pumps.

The 22-year-old, who stars in upcoming TV show Nashville, styled her honey blonde hair into tight curls.

Carrie Underwood also looked stunning for the country bash, where she is nominated for four gongs.

The star looked every inch the leggy blonde in a short and sweet black sequined mini dress and sky high black shoe boots.

Twilight star Ashley Greene certainly brought some ethereal glamour to the red carpet in her feathered confection.

The pale pink gown highlighted the 15-year-old’s porcelain skin and chocolate brown locks.

Meanwhile singer Jordin Sparks chose a floor-sweeping coral gown with an interesting train which deepened in shade.

And Miranda Lambert and Jennie Garth both kept things simple in strapless frocks, with Miranda in black and Jennie choosing green.

The two country finalists from the latest season of American Idol, Colton Dixon and Skylar Laine, were also invited to the ceremony.

Rising star Skylar showed she has already developed a unique red carpet style and sported a daring and dramatic silver dress with both long and short hemlines.

Elizabeth Cook and Grace Potter also opted for silver gowns.
