Valentine's Day was the perfect day for the lady in red to show a little leg.

Selena Gomez showed off her sculpted physique in an asymmetrical dress on Tuesday in New York City.

The 24-year-old Hollywood starlet had been on the east coast making her rounds throughout Manhattan, taking in shows for New York Fashion Week, while her new beau, The Weekend, celebrated his birthday a bit early in Los Angeles

The Lost In Love singer wore an edgy dress with  a dress shirt collar and cutouts at the mid-section and just below her decolletage.

With ruching extending out from a zipper enclosure down the middle of her torso, the look also featured silver embellishment along that seam.

The raven-haired beauty had muscle definition from the tip of her toe to the top of her thigh, which anyone could see, in the sexy frock with a high slit.

She brought along a black leather jacket in case she got cold, which she slung over one shoulder as she headed out for the evening.

Earlier in the day, the Disney Channel alum sat front row at the Coach fashion show.

Unfortunately for Selena, her Valentine wasn't in city with her, as he was back home in Los Angeles celebrating his birthday a couple of days early... on his lady's dime.

The Weeknd, who turns 27 on Thursday, celebrated at one of his favorite spots, Hollywood's Dave & Buster's, an adult-oriented 'barcade' and restaurant, on Monday.

Even though she was out of town, the We Don't Talk Anymore hitmaker left her credit card to pick up the nearly $30,000 tab for her man and his friends, according to TMZ.

Stars in attendance included French Montana, 2 Chainz, Big Sean, Travis Scott, Migos and Bryson Tiller.

She’s been burying herself in work following her latest split with Lewis Hamilton – and Sunday proved to be no exception as Nicole Scherzinger took to the stage with a troupe of hunky backing dancers.

The 36-year-old singer is currently in the Philippine capital Manila, where she delighted fans at the city’s Chaos nightclub with a live performance during its first annual Valentine’s Day Love Ball.

Sporting a bralet and distressed hotpants Nicole showed off her famously toned body as she took to the stage shortly after the doors opened for revellers at 10:00pm.

The former Pussycat Doll completed her look with fringed top and fingerless gloves, while gold patent high-top trainers gave her outfit a distinctive flourish.

Nicole was joined onstage by two male dancers, both of whom proceeded to display their abs after peeling off their shirts midway through the performance.

The singer is still recovering following her split with Formula 1 ace Lewis, 30, who was last seen leaving Club Up and Down in New York City with a pretty blonde on Friday evening.

A spokesperson for Lewis later told MailOnline: 'Lewis left the club alone and wasn't partying with this girl. He doesn't know her.'

The sportsman was seen leaving the club first, wearing a two tone grey and black coat over a shirt and trousers, while his companion was sporting a black mini dress under a coat, accessorizing with a silver Chanel bag and black platform heels. 

Nicole is in the Philippines with Unicef, helping vulnerable children and tweeted: 'I'm in the #Philippines with @Unicef_UK seeing how they support vulnerable children.'

She parted ways with Lewis due to the pressures of a long-distance relationship, and is said to be 'heartbroken and devastated' at seeing their seven-year on-off romance come to an end.

A source close to the star told MailOnline: 'It was a mutual decision. The long distance kept them apart for long periods of time.'

But another source hasn't ruled out a reconciliation between the two. 'It's been seven years now, and it's always the same reason that splits them up,' the second source said. 'Love always brings them back together.'

Nicole has previously said: 'Every relationship has its things and you work it out. We made it last for four years so far, so it definitely makes things interesting and challenging.

'I wouldn’t wish a long-distance relationship on anyone, Lewis would say the same. But if it’s worth it, you fight for it. We try to see each other as much as possible.'

Three months into their fledgling romance, Lucy Mecklenburgh and Louis Smith are excitedly preparing to spend their first ever Valentine's Day together.

Lucy, who began dating Olympian gymnast Louis after meeting him on the set BBC show Tumble, took to her Twitter account on Saturday morning to share a romantic snapshot of the couple.

'Happy Valentine's Day Everyone!!! .. Couldn't sleep last night because I'm soo excited,' she wrote alongside the black-and-white image, which showed the lovebirds smiling as they hugged.

Their first Valentine's Day together: Lucy Mecklenburgh shared a romantic snapshot of herself with new beau Louis Smith on Saturday morning

The image appeared to have been taken from the couple's recent shoot and interview with Hello! magazine, where they openly discussed their new relationship.

Lucy, whose previous romance with former TOWIE co-star Mario Falcone was blighted by persistent rumours of cheating on both sides, insisted she would 'never cheat' on Olympic gymnast Louis, whom she trusts 'completely'.

She told the publication: 'I've experienced what it feels like (to have an unfaithful partner) so I would never cheat.

The real deal: Louis explained to Hello! that while the couple are still in the early days of their romance, it feels as though they have 'known each other for ages'

The fitness entrepreneur, who quit TOWIE in 2013, also discussed the couple's first date, explaining the athlete showed off his skills in the kitchen by cooking her spaghetti and meatballs.

Lucy gushed: 'It was probably the best first date I've ever had.'

Admitting he was attempting to sweep Lucy 'off her feet', Louis explained while the couple are still in the early days of their romance, it feels as though they have 'known each other for ages'.

He told Hello!: 'We've only been seeing each other for three months but it feels so easy, as if we've known each other for ages.'

And Louis revealed he has already introduced Lucy to his beloved mother Elaine, who 'definitely approves' of the brunette beauty.

He explained: 'One of things I really like about Lucy is that she is close to her family, too. She has good family morals and has been brought up well.'

Lucy and Louis started dating in December 2014 after meeting on the set of reality show Tumble earlier in the year.

Louis was a judge on the panel of the BBC gymnastics series, while Lucy was a contestant, finishing in fifth place.

Lily Aldridge and Candice Swanepoel have revealed what it takes to make a Victoria's Secret Angel swoon on Valentine's Day - and it’s not as difficult as you might think.

The models shared their top picks for the best presents and most romantic dates during last week’s Victoria’s Secret event in New York City's Herald Square – with both insisting that they aren't that tricky to impress.

'I am so easy to please on Valentine’s Day,' Candice, 26, told Daily Mail Online, although she did add that her dream date would be a nice trip - preferably to a beautiful beach location.

Perfect presents: The stunning Victoria's Secret Angels shared their favorite gift ideas for February 14 

After naming the Bahamas, Brazil and Puerto Rico as some of her favorite romantic locations, she joked: 'Anywhere where there is not that many clothes.'

Candice, who has been with her Brazilian model boyfriend Hermann Nicoli since she was 17, noted that she would also love a 'cozy night in at home with a bottle of wine and a movie'.

'Just something simple,' she explained.

Lily, who married Kings of Leon frontman Caleb Followill in 2011, agreed that a small gesture really does go a long way.

'I think the best date is a home cooked meal for me,' she said. 'That's what I think is most romantic, putting the thought [into] the meal and lighting some candles and being at home and cozy.'

Scent of a woman: The beautiful models agreed that fragrance is the perfect gift for those in new relationships

As for material gifts, the 29-year-old Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model said fragrance is a 'no-brainer'. 

'[It's an] unintimidating present because sometimes guys don't know what size you are if he wanted to come buy lingerie,' she explained. 'But fragrance is always good.'

She said it was especially good for those starting new relationships because it's 'not too presumptuous'.

And for Lily, the bottle’s design is just as important as the scent.

The California-native noted that she loves fragrance that comes with a pump because the style reminds her of old Hollywood. 

While Lily's picks were both sweet and safe, Candice had some racier gift ideas in mind.

'I think it is the perfect occasion to get something super sexy because all women want to feel sexy on Valentine's Day,' she said pointing to a black and red push-up bra with lace details. 'That's a good go-to.'

She continued: 'And if men are a little scared to buy lingerie, because it is a personal thing, fragrance and a gift card is the easiest thing. Then the girl can come to the store and have that Victoria's Secret experience.'

For anyone who is wary of presenting their loved one with a certificate, the South African beauty explained that a gift card has the potential to become a fantasy fulfilling date. 

'When women come [to Victoria's Secret] it is about trying everything on,' she said. 'The changing rooms are beautiful. It's a treat for every woman.'

She added: 'What's nice is if he comes with you, no? Because some guys will just buy the gift card and be like: "Have fun." But it's kind of cute if he comes with you and you try it on and show him.'

Not surprisingly, the models, who have two of the most enviable bodies in the business, said they would choose flowers over chocolates, with Lily adding that she likes pale pink peonies.

As for mood music, Lily prefers to set the tone with Frank Sinatra, while Candice favors Drake and 'old, classic' Madonna.

'For me, I always go for black lace. Black lace is the sexiest,' Candice explained.

Meanwhile, Lily said she loves red, adding: 'I like a deep sexy red underwear.' 

And for those thinking of popping the question on February 14, make sure it's what your partner would want.  

'I am kind of a cynical person, so I would say nay,' Candice said of Valentine's Day engagements. 'But it depends on what type of person you are.'

She added: 'For some people, that would be most romantic thing ever.'
