A dream in aquamarine: Jessica Michibata dazzles in a plunging minidress as she supports F1 driver beau Jenson Button ahead of Singapore Grand Prix

|
She was every inch the dutiful girlfriend as she jetted out to Singapore support her racing driver beau, Jenson Button, ahead of this weekend's Singapore Grand Prix.
But Jessica Michibata certainly attracted attention away from the track as she arrived in the paddock to cheer on the Formula One champion ahead of his night race at the Marina Bay Street Circuit on Thursday.
The 28-year-old model looked positively breathtaking as she showed off her elegant sense of style in a bright aquamarine minidress.

Featuring a daring plunging neckline, the bold garment ensured the Japanese-Argentine beauty stood out from the crowd as she prepared to be her partner's lucky charm.
Looking effortlessly elegant, Jessica teamed her stylish dress with a pair of simple flat sandals, while accessorising with delicate gold jewellery and a dazzling diamond ring on her forefinger.
The Formula One WAG completed her stunning look by toting an envy-inducing purple leather Hermes Birkin handbag, while wearing her luscious light brunette locks tumbling in a dramatic cascade of curls around her shoulders.

Showing off her effortless natural beauty, Jessica went make-up free, and seemed to be in high spirits as she chatted away with a couple of fellow attendees.
Earlier on Thursday, Jeson laid to rest rumours that he would be leaving the McLaren team at the end of the current F1 season.
Speaking to Sky Sports Rachel Brookes about his contract situation, he said: 'It's done. I'll be here next year.'

And the British driver is eyeing a win at Sunday's Singapore Grand Prix after a disappointing season, which has seen the team still searching for its first podium finish, despite being 12 races into the year.
He said: 'If we get one podium I don't think it really makes much difference. Winning is what we are here to do, so if we get a podium people will say, "Well, why are you happy with a podium? You're there to win".
'I don't think it will be disastrous if we don't get a podium. I don't really think it would make much difference if we did. But winning a grand prix is something that would stand out to me, would save a tough year.'

An excitable Katy Perry steps into the fast lane as she hits the Singapore Grand Prix

'Vroom vroom': An excitable Katy Perry steps into the fast lane as she hits the Singapore Grand Prix

    |

She's just returned from a spiritual quest where she 'ate, prayed and climbed a volcano'.
But on Sunday it was back to work as usual for Katy Perry as performed at the Singapore Formula One Grand Prix on the Marina Bay City Circuit.
The singer seemed in high spirits as she watched the likes of Jensen Button and Lewis Hamilton competing before taking to the stage.

Curvy Katy made the most of her best assets in a low-cut flattering black, blue and white patterned dress.
The I Kissed A Girl singer, who has recently had her hair dyed both blue and purple, had gone back to her roots, sporting a simple, sleek dark brown bob.
Katy seemed in high spirits as she happily posed for the cameras but she seemed most excited as she flashed the peace sign standing in front of one of the cars in the pit.

The musical star will perform on Sunday evening to draw to a close the three days of racing in a grand finale concert.

She will take to the stage once Sebastian Vettel is crowned at the podium following his win.
Lewis Hamilton slipped to fourth following a gearbox failure, while Jenson Button took second.
The news will no doubt delight Jenson's girlfriend Japanese  model Jessica Michibata, who was seen wearing a stunning strapless blue dress ahead of the race.

Katy was clearly excited about her performance and tweeted a picture of a couple of toy race cars and a sparkly microphone, which she accompanied with the words: 'vrooooom vroooooom!'
Maroon 5 performed at the race course on Saturday evening.
Her return to work comes a short while after a brief soul searching trip to an unknown location.

Katy tweeted a picture of herself on Wednesday morning at the top of the volcano, along with the caption: 'I ate, I prayed, I climbed a volcano.'
It seems the brunette pop star has been getting in touch with her spiritual side recently, meditating and cleansing her 'chakras'.

Katy's divorce from British comedian Russell Brand was finalised in July and just a few months afterwards, Katy sparked rumours of a romance with fellow singer Mayer.
The pair were last photographed together on 11th September, when they were spotted partying together at a Las Vegas strip club until 5am.

Gearing up for the big race: Jessica Michibata test drives a strapless blue dress to support Jenson Button in Singapore

        |

Jessica Michibata has been an ever present supporter for Formula One ace boyfriend Jenson Button.
And she has made sure she looked her best as she gears up for his big race at Sunday's Singapore F1 Grand Prix.
The 27-year-old Japanese model looked stunning wearing a strapless blue dress as she waited to see her boyfriend in action the Marina Bay Street Circuit.

Wearing her hair back, she was a figure of fun during the walk, and showed no sign of nerves ahead of her boyfriend's race.
Instead, she was seen yelping with delight and smiling happily at photographers.

On Saturday she had to watch him settle for fourth place in the qualifying round.
Number one fan: Michibata is a regular fixture at Button's races

However, Button is still confident of a victory at Sunday's race.
He said: 'I found it a bit tough today; I didn't really feel comfortable with my car, the rear went away from me quite quickly, and I struggled to look after the tyres over a lap.
'I hope the balance will be better in the race than it was in qualifying. The high degradation around here will make it a tricky race, but I think we'll be okay. It's going to be tough for everyone on Sunday evening, but you can overtake around here. Starting from fourth means you can hope for the best – a win – but the pace just wasn't quite there for me in qualifying. I hope it's better in the race.'
Fingers crossed: Jessica will be hoping to see her boyfriend land victory in Sunday's race

While Button has been preparing for his big race this week, the pair have found time for a little fun in Singapore.
She was recently drenched as she made her way to the paddocks in Singapore to watch his first Formula 1 practice race on Friday, and she ending up changing her summery frock and sandals for a McLaren Mercedes team kit.
He tweeted:  'Absolutely chucking it down with rain here in Singapore. @jessybondgirl completely drenched = unhappy girlfriend!!'
They have also been seen walking hand in hand during any breaks from his racing heroics.

Vettel wins in Singapore but it's Marina Bay hell for Hamilton after break down

          |

Sebastian Vettel shone in Formula One's night race for the second successive season, but for Lewis Hamilton the lights may have gone out on his championship chances.
Vettel capitalised on Hamilton's retirement with a gearbox problem on lap 23 when comfortably leading the Singapore Grand Prix to take the chequered flag.
This latest win for the reigning world champion ends Vettel's longest winless run of nine races since joining Red Bull in 2009.

          Upset Hamilton

As team principal Christian Horner pointed out to Vettel after crossing the line: 'Well done, you're back in the championship again.'
The 24-year-old now trails Ferrari's Fernando Alonso by 29 points, the Spaniard claiming the 81st podium of his career - only Michael Schumacher and Alain Prost have more - by finishing third behind McLaren's Jenson Button.

For Hamilton, his recent rollercoaster run now leaves him 52 points behind Alonso, and with his last five races reading - retired, first, retired, first, retired.
Just when Hamilton garners belief he has a chance of the title, he finds his hopes cruelly snatched away.
In Germany, Hamilton retired 11 laps from home with puncture damage, albeit after an unhappy start when he was forced into an early pit stop after running over debris from a lap-one incident.

          TOP TEN

          1. Sebastian Vettel (Red Bull)
          2. Jenson Button (McLaren)
          3. Fernando Alonso (Ferrari)
          4. Paul Di Resta (Force India)
          5. Nico Rosberg (Mercedes)
          6. Kimi Raikkonen (Lotus)
          7. Romain Grosjean (Lotus)
          8. Felipe Massa (Ferrari)
          9. Daniel Ricciardo (Toro Rosso)
          10. Mark Webber (Red Bull)
A superb victory in Hungary followed before the summer break, after which his Belgian Grand Prix ended at the first corner as he was one of four cars involved in a major pile-up.
The 27-year-old bounced back a fortnight ago with his win in Italy, and back-to-back triumphs appeared on the cards when he grabbed his 24th career pole on Saturday.
The threat at the start for Hamilton was from Williams' Pastor Maldonado alongside him on the front row of the grid given the Venezuelan's penchant for poor judgment and errors this season which has resulted in many penalties.
But when the five red lights disappeared Hamilton's getaway was as sweet as he could have dreamed of, instead leaving Maldonado to deal with Vettel and Button.
From the perspective of both men they quickly managed to blast their way past Maldonado through the opening corners, dropping the 27-year-old to fourth ahead of Alonso who was unable to follow suit.
Leading comfortably from Vettel, however, Hamilton's gearbox gave way on lap 23, the Briton grinding to a halt down an escape road.

Keeing up: Alonso still has a 29 point lead
There was a clear shake of the head from Hamilton and a moment when he put his head in his hands.
That promoted Vettel into the lead ahead of Button and Maldonado, but the latter was also forced into retirement during the first of the two safety car sessions that followed in quick succession.
Narain Karthikeyan sparked the opener, maintaining Singapore's 100% record for safety cars over its five-year run, sliding his HRT into a wall on entry into Anderson Bridge from which there was no recovery.
The safety car pitted after running for five laps, but not for a moment of drama as Button nearly ran into the back of Vettel at one point shortly before the restart.

          Smash: Schumacher's race is over

However, it was not long before safety car driver Bernd Maylander was back on track as for the second successive year at this track, Schumacher ran into the back of a rival.
On this occasion the seven-time champion was late on to the brakes of his Mercedes, hurtling into the rear of Jean-Eric Vergne's Toro Rosso.
After clambering from their cars Schumacher and Vergne embraced one another rather than engaging in any finger pointing.
Although both cars had slid down an escape road, there was enough debris on track to force the safety car quickly back into play.

But once it disappeared, for the leaders the rest of the race was fairly routine, with Vettel finishing 8.9secs clear of Button, with Alonso grinding out another podium.
Behind the trio, Force India's Paul Di Resta grabbed a career-high fourth, followed by Mercedes' Nico Rosberg and Kimi Raikkonen in his Lotus, the Finn now 45 points adrift in the title race.
Team-mate Romain Grosjean was seventh, followed by Ferrari's Felipe Massa, Daniel Ricciardo in his Toro Rosso and Red Bull's Mark Webber, surely out of the title running now as he is 61 points down.

Following his 23rd career win, an ecstatic Vettel said: 'This is one of the toughest races all year, two hours, the circuit is a killer and the race seems to go on forever.
'Obviously we benefited from Lewis' retirement, the pace was there, so I'm incredibly happy and proud.
'I'd like to dedicate it to a very special man, Sid Watkins (former race doctor and FIA medical delegate who recently passed away), a big thank you to him.'

Alonso, who continues to hang on to the lead as his rivals trip over themselves, said: 'This is one of the best tracks to drive, it was a fun race again.'
