The fashion magazine has launched its 35th anniversary celebrations with a special edition of the magazine, featuring 18 different covers starring supermodels alongside the most exciting faces emerging in the industry today.
Shot by acclaimed British photographer Alasdair McLellan, Kate leads the images, marking her 19th cover for the magazine which was founded by former Vogue art director Terry Jones in 1980.
The fashion icon stars in an arty black and white shot, covered up in a statement Balenciaga coat with a buckle collar.

Covering one eye with a perfectly manicured hand in a nod to the mag's tradition for including a winking cover star, Kate's blonde hair is slicked back while she shows off her natural beauty with simple makeup.
Jourdan's cover meanwhile shows the catwalk star's cheeky side, with the beauty flashing a big smile and winking for the camera.
Wearing a plunging black top from Givenchy, the model's curves take the spotlight as she rocks a similar natural hair and makeup style to Kate.
The star took to her Instagram page to wish the mag many happy returns, gushing: 'Happy 35th Birthday @id_magazine Forever killin it!  thank you for my 8th ID cover.'

The Brit duo aren't the only two i-D cover stars though, with some of the best known fashion faces from around the world also taking part.
Dutch beauty Lara Stone's image is in colour with the 31-year-old blonde stunner wearing a Miu Miu khaki shirt paired with messy locks and a flawless complexion.
27-year-old Danish model Freja Beha also lands her own cover, showing off her long wavy locks as she poses in a leather jacket.

Wink and you'll miss it! Supermodels Miranda Kerr and Cara Delevingne wear skimpy bras for i-D video

i-D magazine has featured some of fashion's biggest personalities winking on the cover of every issue, in a tradition that has lasted for 33 years.
And now the British title has celebrated the launch of a brand new digital platform by creating a short film which features 26 of the magazine's most memorable cover lines from 1980 to 2013.
Director Jérémie Rozan and fashion director Charlotte Stockdale shot the video, called the 'A-Z of Wink!' for their recently relaunched site, i-D.com

Most notably, Australian supermodel, Miranda Kerr represented the letter 'B' for Babewatch and  posed in a tiny Chanel bikini, which was branded with the fashion house's logo.
The bikini first became famous in 1996 when model Stella Tennant wore it in the designer label's runway show that year.

Model-of-the-moment Cara Delevingne was also involved in the campaign and she nabbed the famous bikini for a cheeky behind the scenes try-on and later represented the letter 'Z' for Zip!
Cara joined the likes of Lara Stone, Natalia Vodianova, Rick Owens, Lily McMenamy, Joan Smalls, JW Anderson and Lindsey Wixson who posed for Jérémie Rozan and Charlotte Stockdale.

Victoria's Secret model Candice Swanepoel flashes some sideboob in topless shoot

No one's looking at your Minnie ears: Victoria's Secret model Candice Swanepoel flashes some sideboob in topless shoot

She’s previously confessed to being introverted, but Candice Swanepoel seems to be bursting with confidence in her latest photo-shoot.
The South African model strips off for a series of playful black and white shots taken by photographer Matt Jones for the latest issue of i-D Magazine.
Candice cheerfully shows off her model figure in images that have been artfully illustrated by New York based artist Brian Donnelly, aka KAWS.

The 25-year-old Victoria’s Secret Angel is the latest cover star to feature in The Collector’s Issue – out this week – and she appeared to be revelling in the opportunity to flash her toned tum for the cameras.
In one shot Candice bears a generous portion of her left while coyly covering her distinctive features with a hand, upon which she wears a cartoonish Micky Mouse glove.
Another captures the flaxen haired beauty sporting a pair of cropped denim shorts, a blissful expression on her face and a pair of KAWS animated boots on her feet.
Candice is also seen protecting her modesty with a large skateboard while a pencil drawn snake looks on in the foreground.
Another shot finds her covering her bare bottom with oversized gloves while sporting a pair of Micky Mouse ears on her head.

Candice is currently dating model Hermann Nicoli, and the pair looked smitten last week when they attended the 2013 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show after-party at TAO Downtown in New York City.
The model was first spotted by a talent scout while she shopped in a flea market in Durban at age 15, and was then catapulted from her rural town of Moori River to the most prestigious catwalks around the world.
She has appeared on the covers of Australian, Greek, Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese and Italian Vogue magazines, South African, Romanian, Mexican and Chinese GQ, German and South African, and was 10th on the Forbes top-earning models list in 2012.
Along with her countless magazine covers, Candice is one of the key members of the Victoria's Secret flock of angels and this year was named the cover model of the coveted swim catalogue.
Speaking earlier this year, the model admitted that she's shy whenever she's away from the camera.
'I’m kind of introverted, so sometimes it’s hard for me for people to recognize me, (especially) if I’m trying to be kind of undercover,' she revealed.

Selena Gomez hits the streets of London for her i-D cover debut

Selena Gomez. 18.00 hrs. E8.

She’s the poster girl for the Disney generation, a sultry pop star and the latest Harmony Korine pin-up. Selena Gomez hits the streets of London for her i-D cover debut.

Text: Anders Christian Madsen
Photography: Scott Trindle
Styling: Elgar Johnson

“I was actually really shy as a child. My first audition did not go well. I was very awkward. It was in front of a bunch of suits at Disney and I definitely felt I blew it. It took me a long time to let go.” Selena Gomez

When Britney Spears first emerged in her high school uniform circa 1999 and belted her way into the hearts of the world with her all-American messages of virtue and teen power, a seven-year-old girl from Texas was watching her every move. “The Baby One More Time… concert was amazing. I sat all the way up in the nosebleeds and I could barely see her, but I remember it being the best day of my life,” Selena Gomez reminisces. “I had my hair in a ponytail and I knew all the words to the songs. I’ll always remember it.” The icon of the post-Janet Jackson generation, Britney paved the way for an era of tiny Disney superstars whose images would become even more protected than that of their precursor. But like Janet before her, the gilded birdcage became too much for Britney, who decided to take control and, well, lose control all at once.
Britney’s legendary meltdown was part of a learning curve for her more famous fans, a sort of How Not To for child stars who suddenly find themselves all grown up. Selena Gomez, for one, paid close attention and now at 21 she’s seemingly well balanced in her celebrity. Her break with the cutesy Disney image that catapulted her into global stardom has been as smooth as Britney’s was rocky. In the course of a year, she has gone from voicing the animated family comedy Hotel Transylvania to starring in Harmony Korine’s guns-and-nudity spectacle Spring Breakers, and from singing about PG-13 crushes to seductively cooing, “When you’re ready come and get it” on her debut solo album Stars Dance. On the phone from her home in LA, she’s musing about her i-D cover shoot, a kind of manifesto of her transformation.
“I love doing shoots overseas. Actually being there and feeling the environment adds a realness to the shoot,” she says, her accent bearing more likeness to the dozy, drawn-out vowels of California than her Texan roots. “It’s so easy to wear incredible, beautiful dresses and look super glamorous, because you have the power of Photoshop, but a shoot that’s really stripped-down and raw is really fun to do. I was being rained on, it was freezing, I was covered in a giant sweater and my hair was all over the place. I got to just be in that moment and feel like I was there.” When you’re 21 and you’re about to go on tour, those moments don’t necessarily come by the dozen. “It’s been crazy,” Selena admits. “I wanted it to be bigger and better than the last tour, so the stage and the presentation are gonna be really fun.”

Selena Somez looking gritty posing alongside skinheads in edgy shoot for i-D magazine

This Is Gomez: Selena ditches the glamour for gritty look as she poses alongside skinheads in edgy shoot for i-D magazine

She recently transformed herself from a children’s TV favourite to a sexy singer who stars in explicit films.
But showing she’s always willing to try new things Selena Gomez has shed her usual sultry style in favour of a stripped down This Is England inspired look.
Posing alongside two women with shaved heads, the 21-year-old looks a far cry from both the Disney princess she once was and the glamorous woman she was recently become as she poses in the edgy shoot for  i-D magazine.

Wearing a plain T-shirt with an oversized John Varvatos coat and her hair pushed off her face, it’s clear Selena, who was styled by Elgar Johnson for the shoot, can pull of most looks.
Standing with her hands in her pocket the Wizards Of Waverly Place star looks  almost defiant with a dreary London alley way as her back drop.
Her hair which is usually styled around her face is slicked back and making sure her natural beauty shines through – her eyes are simply accentuated with a touch of eyeliner.

For the front cover Selena, who was shot by Scott Trindle, again looks rawer with her hair messily falling around her face, while dressed in a Margaret Howell jumper.
Looking at the camera she gives a cheeky wink, hinting at a more wild side she has recently embraced.
And it seems the star, who has enjoyed an on/off relationship with Justin Bieber loved embracing a different side to herself.

She told the magazine: ‘I love doing shoots overseas. Actually being there and feeling the environment adds a realness to the shoot.

During the interview she also describes how as a seven-year-old girl from Texas she was obsessed with Britney Spears.

‘I had my hair in a ponytail and I knew all the words to the songs. I’ll always remember it.’
Meanwhile it’s been announced that UK band The Vamps, who's debut single Can We Dance is out September 29, will be supporting Selena during her London tour dates.
Selena is currently touring with her debut solo album Stars Dance and will play in London on the 7th and 8th of September.
