The Band Aid 30 supergroup get to work in the London studio to re-record classic charity track Do They Know It's Christmas?

When the song was originally released 30 years ago, a number of today's biggest pop acts weren't even born.
But Bob Geldof openly welcomed in the likes of Rita Ora and pop heart-throbs One Direction as he re-recorded his classic charity track Do They Know It's Christmas? in London on Saturday.
And it seemed to be a magical affair judging by the inside photos as artists old and new got together on Saturday.

Irish star Bob was among the first to arrive, looking upbeat as he carried a large olive-coloured bag past an assembled crowd while making his way into Notting Hill's Sarm Studios for Band Aid 30.
Waving at onlookers, Rita looked camera ready in a red trouser suit, which she teamed with stark white trainers and a barely-there white crop top.
Also arriving well before 10am were 1D's Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne, who were among the stars hand-picked to record the classic track, re-purposed to benefit those affected by West Africa's ongoing Ebola crisis.
Coldplay frontman Chris Martin showed up a little later flashing a smile at fans and photographers, ahead of Sam Smith's arrival.

DO THEY KNOW IT'S CHRISTMAS 2014 - THE NEW LYRICS

While the original 1984 Band Aid song focussed on the famine gripping Ethiopia at that time, the lyrics have now been rewritten to address the ongoing Ebola crisis affecting parts of West Africa. They are in full:

It's Christmas time - And there's no need to be afraid
At Christmas time - We let in light - And banish shade
And in our world of plenty - We can spread a smile of joy
Throw your arms around the world
At Christmas time

But say a prayer - Pray for the other ones
At Christmas time - It's hard but while you're having fun
There's a world outside your wondow - And it's a world of dread and fear
Where a kiss of love can kill you - And there's death in every year
And the Christmas hells that ring there - Are the clanging chimes of doom
Well tonight we're reaching out and touching you

No peace and joy this Christmas in West Africa -
The only hope they'll have is being alive -
Where to comfort is to fear -
Where to touch is to be scared -
How can they know it's Christmas time at all

Here's to you
Raise a glass to everyone
And here's to them
And all their years to come
Let them know it's Christmas after all

Feed the world Let them know it's Christmastime again!
Feed the world Let them know it's Christmastime again!
Feed the world Let them know it's Christmastime again!
