She's Vixen! Megalyn Echikunwoke has been cast as the animal-powered DC hero on TV's Arrow after voicing the animated version

It's a beastly job, but someone's gotta do it.

Megalyn Echikunwoke has been cast as the super-heroine Vixen in The CW's Arrow series, according to TV Insider.

The 32-year-old landed the role having provided the voice for the same character in the animated webisodes.

The American stunner will join the cast on February 24, on episode 15 of the current season four.

Vixen, AKA Mari Jiwe McCabe, is an African hero who has the ability to mimic any animal on Earth.

In the animated show her character has already crossed paths with Stephen Amell's Green Arrow and Grant Gustin's Flash.

In the comic book she's even been rubbed shoulders with DC's tier one heroes and villains, being a one-time member of the Justice League and the Suicide Squad.

With the arrival of yet another DC spin off Legend's Of Tomorrow en route too, she may yet add further team memberships to her CV too.

Echikunwoke has dozens of TV roles on her own resume, playing both Tara Price on CSI: Miami and Isabelle Tyler on The 4400.

She also had recurring roles in House Of Lies (pictured with Don Cheadle), 90210, That 70s Show and 24,

Echikunwoke also landed a main role in A&E's upcoming horror series Damien, based on the now-30-year-old demonic child from The Omen.

It is unknown if her story arc in Arrow will follow what has gone before in the CW Seed’s cartoon web series.
