She's an up and coming actress making a name for herself in Hollywood.

And for her next role Bates Motel star Olivia Cooke has shorn off her luscious locks for an entirely new and hairless look.

The 20-year-old British actress showed off her freshly shaved head at Comic Con in San Diego on Friday, even posting an Instagram snap as friends rubbed her scalp for good luck.

In the social media photo she wears a sheer button down top, revealing her white bra, teamed with a pencil skirt.

Olivia has caught attention on A&E's Bates Motel playing the role of Emma, best friends with creepy Norman.

She had her big screen debut in horror film The Quiet Ones, which hit theatres earlier this year.

Olivia also had a role in science fiction film The Signal opposite Lawrence Fishburne and Brenton Thwaites in June.

But her new look is for a far graver role, one that could launch her as a serious actress in Hollywood.

Olivia plays a girl named Rachel who is dying from cancer in the film adaptation of Me & Earl & The Dying Girl.

The film has yet to set a release date.

On Saturday in Hollywood THE big event to be at, or at least invited to, was DuJour magazine's Great Performance Issue Pre-Golden Globes Party.

Downton Abbey's Michelle Dockery led the star-packed charge dressed in what amounted to regal European chic. Barely showing an inch of flesh, the actress still looked every inch the global star her British TV drama has turned her into.

Wearing black heels and a black ankle-length dress with a white collar, it was very old-school Hollywood, but at the same time had a truly sophisticated air of glamour to it.

Started only n 2012 DuJour is a digital and print magazine that aims to target the affluent market in the US and chronicle the world of the wealthiest and most inspiring individuals it can find.

The magazine's Winter 2013 cover star is Lupita Nyong'o from 12 Years A Slave.

Previous cover stars have included Robert De Niro, Julianne Moore, Nicole Kidman and Kim Kardashian

Also in attendance at DuJour's swish party were plenty of Hollywood heavyweights dressed in their designer finery.

Two blonde actresses brought their A-game, and and big pop of colour to the event as well.

Comeback queen Tara Reid also made an appearance at the DuJour event, wearing an outfit that was more cool than it was chic, especially her skinny jeans.

The actress appears to be back on track now with a wealth of new movies and projects that she is attached to. One of them includes the comedy satire The Hungover Games, which is a send-up of both The Hunger Games and The Hangover.

Ross Noble and Ben Begley are the stars with the movie due for release in the US in March.

Someone who Hollywood has been taking a lot of notice of lately is Lupita Nyong'o from 12 Years A Slave. The actress arrived at the DuJour event with her 12 Years A Slave director Steve McQueen and happily posed for photos of herself with the current DuJour cover.

She wore a truly beautiful dress that almost qualified as a work of art and was in a similar colour palette to the one she wore on the cover of DuJour.

Founder/CEO Jason Binn also made sure that he got in on the action too as he happily posed with the stars for photos too at the event.

Looking like he needed a good meal at the event was Game of Thrones star Kit Harington

Never mind the curtains! Entertainment Tonight's Rocsi Diaz went ethnic and earthy for her dress choice on the night

Other stars who turned up for the event included Game of Thrones' hunk Kit Harington, Entertainment Tonight presenter Rocsi Diaz and two Hollywood couples - Mira Sorvino and husband Christopher Backus and Perry Farrell and wife Etty.

Mira was dressed more businesswoman than Hollywood glamour girl for the event. 

Both Christopher and Perry., meanwhile, appeared to favour the latest male fashion accessories - the oversized scarf.

If anyone could do with some Halloween candy, it's Tara Reid.

The star donned a Caesar goddess bikini, a gold leaf crown and high platform heals to host a Halloween costume party at The Pool After Dark at Harrah's Resort in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

Before heading inside, she posed for photos on the red carpet and while she looked radiant facially, her figure looked worryingly slender.

Once inside, the 37-year-old rocked the house and looked like she was having a blast partying with the other guests who were also decked out in their own Halloween attire.

The American Reunion actress has enjoyed a career revival this year after starring in the made for television film, Sharknado.

The low budget B-grade horror film, which also starred fellow off the boil actor Ian Ziering, saw Tara's character fighting to stay alive after a waterspout sucked up sharks out of the ocean and threw them into Los Angeles.

She landed her breakout role in the Coen Brothers' 1988 comedy favourite The Big Lebowski in which she portrayed missing trophy wife Bunny Lebowski.

As she enjoyed her rising stardom, she was also facing several body issues, which were mainly caused by plastic surgery.

She went under the knife in 2004, but her joint liposuction and breast enhancement operation went drastically wrong.

'It looked like I got completely butchered up,' she later said of her enlarged cleavage.

Of her liposuction, Tara added: 'I had body contouring, but it all went wrong. My stomach became the most ripply, bulgy thing.'

But she later became body confident again posing for Playboy after her surgery in 2010. 

'I'm relaxed,' she told the publication at the time.

'I'm a young woman with confidence ... At the end of the day, I go to sleep knowing who I am.'

She may have only just turned 21-years-old, but Selena Gomez is ageing fast - at least in the wardrobe department.

The former Disney star looked a lot more conservative than many of her peers as she arrived on stage at the Young Hollywood Awards on Thursday dressed in a conservative black dress. 

The ensemble featured a high necked detail and pencil skirt, with only a touch of leather and some studded detail adding some edge to the outfit.

It was the third change in one day for the star who had earlier appeared in a long white lace maxi-dress, while later, she was spotted arriving at a taping of the Jimmy Kimmel show in shorts, spiky heels and a blue jacket. 

At the Santa Monica, California ceremony, Selena was awarded gongs for Fan Favourite Album and Most Anticipated tour.

The actress showed off her slim figure in the ensemble which featured cut out sections in petal shape and a backless detail.

Kelly was awarded the Style Icon Award for her fashion prowess. The star is a co-host on E! show Fashion Police alongside Joan Rivers.

Thursday's ceremony was the second award bash Kelly had attended in as many days.

On Wednesday, she attended the Do Something Awards where she received a gong for raising awareness for multiple sclerosis - her brother Jack has been diagnosed with the disease.

And The Carrie Diaries star looked confident and relaxed posing for a bank of photographers on the red carpet before taking a self portrait prior to the ceremony.

Fresh from the success of Syfy television movie Sharknado, Tara looked in cheerful mood as she hit the red carpet in a black top and sheer royal blue skirt.

The floral look seemed to be a favourite for many celebrities clearly enjoying the Los Angeles sunshine. 

Teen Wolf star Holland Roden wore a striking black trousers and top combination decorated with a flowery design while her Teen Wolf co-star Crystal Reed also sported a flowery 1950s style frock. 

The ladies later joined their CW co-stars Tyler Hoechlin, Tyler Posey, Dylan O'Brien to collect the  Best Ensemble Award at the ceremony.

It was a successful afternoon for the Game of Thrones actor who stars as Jon Snow in the HBO saga. 

He collected the Actor of the Year Award during the ceremony which also saw performances by Cody Simpson and Austin Mahone. 

Other male actors in attendance included former Lost star Dominic Monaghan who looked smart in a grey suit and Christopher Minz-Plasse who looked striking in an all-black ensemble.
