Lupita Nyong'o grabs attention in daring leather strapless dress with cut-out panel as she is honoured at Calvin Klein Cannes bash

She may be an Oscar winner but during awards season Lupita Nyong'o stood out for her impeccable sense of style.
And she is continuing to choose stylish pieces, arriving at the Calvin Klein party during the 67th Annual Cannes Film Festival in a flattering blue leather look strapless dress, with a discreet cut-out under the bust.
The dress - which was of course Calvin Klein - fell just below her knees and Lupita matched it with a pair of strappy sandals.

Proving once again that short hair doesn't have to rule out adventurous styles, it was teased into a bouffant style for the Calvin Klein Euphoria Celebration of Women in Film at which she was honoured.
Lupita wasn't the only star at the party, with Naomi Watts added some style in a pale pink strapless dress.

She chose an elegant black blazer as she walked the carpet but soon ditched it to show off the dress fully.
Naomi appeared to be wearing extensions as her blonde hair was much longer than usual and styled into a quiff along with a low side ponytail.
A large silver necklace completed her look.

Strapless seemed to be the theme of the night as Julianne Moore played it safe in a grey floor-length number.
Her fiery red hair was straightened and framed her face.
Rooney Mara chose a white strapless cropped top and matching skirt with her brown hair swept to one side.

She brightened up her pale yet interesting look with a dash of red lipstick.
The Grace Kelly melodrama Grace of Monaco kicked off the 67th annual Cannes Film Festival on Wednesday with classic French Riviera glamour, behind-the-scenes controversy and emphatic boos from critics.

The film, starring Nicole Kidman as Kelly during her marriage to Prince Rainier III of Monaco (Tim Roth), gave Cannes some local Cote d'Azur color and star wattage for a flashy opening.
But it also started the 11-day festival on an unusually tumultuous note.

Grace of Monaco was met with some of the worst reviews for a Cannes opener after screening for the press early Wednesday. The Hollywood Reporter called the film 'a stiff, stagey, thunderingly earnest affair which has generated far more drama off screen than on'.
Meanwhile, Quentin Tarantino will close out the Film Festival with a tribute to Sergio Leone.

Tarantino will present a restored version of Leone's A Fistful of Dollars (1964) at the May 24 closing ceremony.
It will screen as part of a 50th anniversary celebration of the Spaghetti western, long of a favourite genre of Tarantino's.
Usually, the Palme d'Or winner is screened at the Cannes closing ceremony, but this year's schedule has been tweaked because of European elections.
The Palme d'Or winner will be shown May 25 instead.
