Elizabeth Hurley smoulders as fictional Queen Helena in FIRST promotional shot from raunchy new drama The Royals
Elizabeth Hurley has given fans another insight into her latest role as a fictional member of the British monarchy in forthcoming TV drama The Royals.
The 49-year-old actress plays Queen Helena, the controversial wife of the King of England, when the series airs on the E! channel in the US on March 15 2015.
A teaser trailer from the show has already seen raunchy Elizabeth in character, but a new promotional still finds her looking considerably more regal in a heavily embellished gown befitting a prominent member of the Royal family.

With a gilded gold crown atop her head, the actress – a former Estee Lauder model – offers the camera a smouldering look, her hands pressed against her slender hips.
The new shot comes just days after the release of a new trailer, during which her character dreams up a Christmas Day queen's speech that's far from family friendly.
At the start of the clip, the actress, resplendent in a red dress teamed with stunning diamond jewellery, is seen ranting at her butler as cameras prepare to roll on her Yuletide address to the nation.

'The teacup with no saucer, it's a f***ing disgrace,' she spits, in regally clipped tones.
'I will have someone fired immediately,' he responds, before asking: 'Are you ready, ma'am?'
'Of course I'm ready,' she says. 'I'm the Queen of England.'

She's then instructed: 'On the red light, we go live to the world. Tell them it was a wonderful year for the family and so on.'
'So essentially lie to them,' responds Elizabeth as Queen Hurley as she prepares for her broadcast.
She then launches into a shocking speech, which begins: 'I'm supposed to tell you what a wonderful year it's been. I was supposed to smile and stick to the script.

'But the truth is, as a family, as a monarchy, we're hanging on by a thread. My husband is a stranger to me, and my kids are a s**t show.
'Let's start with the twins, Eleanor and Liam, or as we call them, Prince Party Animal and his Royal Horniness.
'Prince Liam visited America to launch a transatlantic campaign to benefit under-privileged youth and ended up in South Beach having a threesome with a couple of bottle service w**es.

'As for my daughter, between her social media rants and her general lack of decorum and decency, she is single handedly convincing young girls everywhere that growing up to be a princess means a lifetime supply of drugs, STDs and the occasional ganbang.
'And, apparently, we don't even have saucers around here.'
As it seems that the speech can't become any more of a train wreck, it becomes apparent that Queen Helena is merely daydreaming as her butler rouses her with the prompt: 'Your majesty, on the red light.'

She then sticks to protocol as she switches on a smile and says to the cameras: 'Happy Christmas! This year is a wonderful year for your family.'
The comedic trailer ends with a montage of shots of her privileged offspring engaging in the very behaviour she'd described during her daydream.
'This is an extreme, sexy adventure into royalty,' said Elizabeth Hurley of E!'s first scripted series, during an appearance on The Today Show in August.

The hour-long drama offers a fictional take on a British royal family and what may go on behind the closed doors of their palace.
'It's quite out there,' said the 49-year-old actress, whose character has been described as a 'couture-clad vixen dripping in diamonds'.
'For me this is like sex, drugs and rock 'n roll at Windsor Castle,' she added.
But the actress is quick to say her character differs from the real life Queen Elizabeth II.
'There's little resemblance to Her Majesty Elizabeth II, Queen of England,' said Elizabeth. 'But you never know. The beauty of this show is that we go behind closed doors.'
Australian newcomer Alexandra Park co-stars in the series as the partying, wine-swigging Princess Eleanor and William Moseley appears as dashing rogue Prince Liam.

The show, which is set to debut on March 15, starts after the Queen's first-born son, the Prince of Wales, has died, leaving his wayward brother, Prince Liam, as heir apparent to the throne.
But drama ensues when he starts dating an American woman and the disapproving Queen finds out about their late-night trysts.
'You need to want to see drama and heightened stuff and a lot of glamour,' said Elizabeth. 'If that's your bag, you might get lucky.'
The cast also includes Joan Collins as her mother, Vincent Regan as King Simon, while Tom Austen, Ukweli Roach, Jake Maskall and Oliver Milburn round out the line-up.
The Royals premieres in the US on Sunday, March 15 at 10pm ET on E!.
