Bikini model Myleene Klass reveals she is 'doing her bit to put an end to the over-sexualisation of children'
Her fame skyrocketed when she wore a white bikini while showering on TV show, I'm A Celebrity... and now Myleene Klass says she is doing her bit to put an end to the over-sexualisation of children.
In an interview with the Daily Mirror's Clemmie Moodie, the best-selling children's clothing designer, 37, said her plans come from a desire to protect her daughters, Ava, eight, and Hero, four.
'I am hugely aware of over-sexualisation of kids and I won't be allowing anything in my range that can be sexualised. Cherries, for example, are banned,' she said.

Something to say: Bikini model and mother-of-two Myleene Klass says she is doing her bit to put an end to the over-sexualisation of children - she has a best-selling children's clothing range
Protective: The mother of Ava, eight and Hero, four, said: 'I am hugely aware of over-sexualisation of kids and I won't be allowing anything in my range that can be sexualised. Cherries, for example, are banned'
The entrepeneur, who rose to fame as a member of pop band Hear'Say and has modelled lingerie for Littlewoods, says she doesn't allow her girls to have their own mobiles or watch pop videos.
She added: 'I don't need to be fast-forwarding their lives. I would rather explain things to them in their own time than have them watch someone on TV with their crotch out, legs akimbo.'
Myleene also used the interview to defend her choice to use black and lace in recent children's clothing collections, saying the range was inspired by the Mediterranean and practicality.
'I owe those three triangles of fabric everything': Myleene says she wouldn't be where she is today without this famous white bikini which garnered her headlines when she appeared on I'm A Celeb in 2006
Making her mark: The star caused a sensation with her skimpy two-pieces while on the reality show
The radio host does admit that despite being a strong and fearless woman, she owes her career to the skimpy two-piece which garnered her countless headlines while showering in the jungle in 2006.
She told the paper: 'I owe those three triangles of fabric everything. If it wasn't for that bikini, I'd have probably retrained as a midwife. Maybe it's my next challenge.'
MailOnline has contacted a spokesperson for Myleene Klass for further information.
Meanwhile, Myleene has been designing her Baby K range for ten years and it's now available in 32 different countries and is sold through high street giant, Mothercare.
Earlier this month she unveiled her latest autumn collection and modelled an adult-sized version of a bright orange children's mini dress from the range which had a frill running along the hem.
Myleene's version sat way above the knee and she teamed it with a pair of snakeskin heels at the launch as she posed for pictures.
The BBQ champ host has recently returned from a trip to Sweden with her two daughters from her marriage to Graham Quinn.
Meanwhile, the TV star is set to appear on new show Singing In The Rainforest.
The five-part series sees artists/musicians flown out to far flung places where they each spend a week living with a tribe getting to know their cultures and customs and most importantly their musical heritage.
Showing off: The 36-year-old regularly posts pictures of herself in various bikinis when she takes time off from work
At the end of the week the visiting musicians collaborate with their hosts to create a piece of music played in a grand finale concert for the village.
Speaking about the new series, she said: ‘I love Music it’s in my blood and I love travelling. The opportunity to meet and write a song with a tribe that's had no contact with the western world was something too special to miss.’
‘I felt like Magellan discovering a new land. Saying that, when I actually stepped foot on the island, they were the friendliest people ever,’ she added.
‘I felt extremely protective over them all by the time it came for me to leave and want to make sure they are accurately represented and portrayed as the amazing people they are.’
