Alexandra Burke steals the show in bright red dress during Good Morning Britain appearance

She's been a permanent fixture in the limelight since storming to victory on The X Factor in 2008.
And Alexandra Burke is determined to use her celebrity status for a good cause, appearing on Good Morning Britain on Monday on behalf of DiabetesUK in order to raise awareness for the serious health complications that can ensue from diabetes.
The 26-year-old singer is personally invested in the issue since her mother Melissa Bell has been battling kidney failure for the last six years.

Speaking to co-hosts Charlotte Hawkins and Ben Shephard, Alexandra explained: 'It has affected our lives. My mum is such a strong woman, she has dealt with this in an inspiring way.
'We know it runs in our family to have diabetes. There's so many ways you can prevent this from happening if you do the check ups regularly.'
Meanwhile, her mother admitted she could have avoided having daily dialysis if had she been more 'responsible' when she was first diagnosed with diabetes 29 years ago.

Melissa said: 'I was young and irresponsible at the time. I didn't follow the rules. I have now got kidney failure and have to [have dialysis] every day.
'I had to see a psychologist to get my head around what was happening to me.'
The women were joined by Dr Hilary Jones to discuss the news that people suffering from diabetes related kidney failure and needing regular dialysis treatments is expected to double over the next ten years.

Alexandra tweeted: 'AWARENESS is K E Y Good Morning Britain - Raising Awareness for DiabetesUK with my mummy! @melissabell29 - So proud that she is an ambassador for them!'
The Bad Boys singer was looking red hot for the occasion, donning a high-necked scarlet dress.
The star teamed the simple look with suede booties and wore her long locks down in loose curls.
