'Getting ready!' Zoe Saldana is covered with green goo as she's transformed into Gamora for Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 2

While they may look glamorous on the red carpet, the working life of an actress is not all designer dresses and VIP treatment.
Zoe Saldana revealed the first images of herself being transformed into Gamora for Marvel's Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2.
Covered in thick green goo, the 37-year-old lay on a bed make-up free and looking rather uncomfortable.

That's just icky yucky: Zoe Saldana released a collage of Instagram pictures on Wednesday showing her being pasted in thick green goo as she's transformed into Gamora for Marvel's Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2.

Zoe posted the composite shot of four pictures on Instagram on Wednesday, captioned: 'Getting ready... #guardiansofthegalaxy #gamora #scifi #marvel.'
It shows the beauty in various stages of transformation starting with her sitting in a chair with a black plastic robe covering her from the shoulders down as a technician holds a colour chart in front of her.
Zoe's long dark hair is covered in a skin-tight cap, which is just as well because in the next snaps the technician applies the goo all over her head and face with a spatula - perhaps taking a cast to make prosphetics.

The image was also posted on the film's Instagram page.
The original sci-fi movie was a surprise blockbuster in 2014, raking in just over $773 million worldwide, more than recouping its $170 million budget.
The Hollywood Reporter commented at the time: 'A movie about a tree and a talking raccoon?
'Even with hit-making studio Marvel behind Guardians Of The Galaxy, many insiders wondered if an adaptation of the relatively obscure comic book could work.
'But (director) James Gunn was able to make a funny, charismatic space opera.'

Meanwhile, life may be a bit busy for Zoe in the next few years as she's also reprising her role as the blue-skinned Neytiri in director James Cameron's Avatar 2, due out December 25, 2017.
Zoe, who shares twin one-year-old boys Bowie and Cy with artist husband Marco Perego, has also committed to  Avatar 3 and 4, all of which are in pre-production and will take her well into 2019.
Her love interest Sam Worthington and, surprisingly, Sigouney Weaver, whose scientist character was killed off in the first film, are also credited for all three sequels on IMDB
