'Now you'll have time to teach me that dive!' Cheryl Cole is quick to chase up Tom Daley for a lesson... and he can't wait to oblige after completing Olympics victory
It will go down as one of his most memorable nights ever.
And just as he thought his night couldn't get any better after winning an Olympic gold medal, Tom Daley's night was topped off to perfection this evening.
Not only did he win the outstanding medal, but pop star Cheryl Cole quickly used the opportunity to chase him up and ask him for a diving lesson.
Happy to help: Cheryl Cole tweeted Olympic diver Tom Daley tonight asking for a little assistance with her swan dive following his bronze win
Chasing him already! Cheryl Cole took to Twitter this evening straight after Tom Daley's Olympics win to remind him he has to now teach her to swan dive
She wrote soon after his win: 'Congratulations @TomDaley1994.. You did us all proud.. !! Now you should have some free time to teach me that dive !! :D.'
It was only a few days ago that she stunned the cheeky 18-year-old by writing to him on Twitter: 'I think you are amazing! Will you teach me how to swan dive?'
Not one to miss out on an opportunity Tom retweeted her, replying: 'Of course!!! But first you need to follow me ;)'
Winner! Daley gave his winning smile and was treated to a special personalised tweet from Cheryl moments later
Celebrations: Tom will be on a high from winning his medal and receiving such a good response from his new found celebrity fans
And his tactics worked, as she remembered the promise and i already keen to get the lesson into action.
Daley wrote back: 'I will :) we need to get it organised! I will DM you now :).'
It capped off an exciting evening for him as the likes of David Beckham and One Direction's Louis Tomlinson sat in the Aquatics Arena to watch his triumph.
No doubt the exchange will prompt envy from fans of both parties.
Sounds fair! Tom said he'd give Cheryl a diving lesson if she followed him on Twitter
The pop star's encouragement must be just what Tom needed after a rather turbulent start to the week.
Daley and his partner Pete Waterfield, 31, finished fourth earlier in the week in the men’s synchronised 10m platform diving event at London 2012.
Shortly afterwards, Daley retweeted a message from user Rileyy69 which said: 'You let your dad down i hope you know that.'
Earlier: Daley impressed throughout this evening as he finished off the Olympics with his bronze medal win
Go Tom! Beckham screamed for Daley as the boys moved over to the Aquatics centre for the high diving
Tom responded by tweeting: 'After giving it my all... you get idiots sending me this...'
Daley’s father Rob died last year from brain cancer.
The 17-year-old youth who sent the malicious tweet has been arrested and issued with a harassment warning.
The teenager is still being investigated by police, however, over other communications sent from his Twitter account.
Dorset Police said the youth had been arrested in the early hours this morning after 18-year-old Olympic star Daley received messages on the social networking site.
Easy for some: No doubt many of Tom's fans will be green with envy over Cheryl's success
He was detained at a guesthouse in Weymouth hours after abusive messages were sent to Daley, following the diver's failure to win a medal in the 10m synchronised diving event.
