Featuring everything from the polished singer we are used to seeing perform to a makeup free Beyoncé confessing her feelings into her computer at home, the documentary has been a struggle to out together, the 31-year-old reveals.
'I always battle with, 'How much do I reveal about myself?'" the signer reveals in the teaser.
'If I'm scared, be scared, allow it. Release it.'
'High-voltage performances': The unnamed film will show both behind-the-scenes and never seen before performance footage
Wife, mother, superstar: The former Destiny's Child front woman promises to show what she went through after the birth of her and husband’s, rap mogul Jay Z, first child, and how she then returned to the spotlight
The documentary will include home movies, her reflections on her family’s role in her career including when she decided to fire her father Matthew Knowles as her manager, and the struggles she went through to building her own company, Parkwood Entertainment.
'Directed by the superstar, the film is a fusion of video that provides raw, unprecedented access to the private entertainment icon and high-voltage performances,' the network said when announcing the upcoming film last month.
The 31-year-old had been personally searching for film partners since August.
Past and present: Earlier family footage will also form part of the documentary released on February 16
'This film was so personal to me, it had to have the right home,' the singer said.
As well as being Beyoncé's directorial debut it was also her baby, Blue Ivy Carter's, screen debut - albeit in the superstar's tummy - with the first time mother chronicling her pregnancy long before the rest of the world knew she was expecting.

Beyoncé also promises to show what she went through after the birth of her and husband’s, rap mogul Jay Z, first child, and how she then returned to the spotlight.
In an effort to show who she is as a person, some of the footage was shot by Beyoncé on her laptop, 'in which she reflects on the realities of celebrity, the refuge she finds onstage and the transcendent joy of becoming a mother last year'.
'Everybody knows Beyoncé's music, but few know Beyoncé the person,' Michael Lombardo, president HBO Programming, said.
'Along with electrifying footage of Beyoncé onstage, this unique special looks beyond the glamour to reveal a vibrant, vulnerable, unforgettable woman.'
The start of 2013 is set to be all about Beyoncé.
As not only will she be releasing her first documentary film, but 13 days prior will perform at the 2013 Super Bowl halftime show on February 3.
Beyoncé has stepped in front of the camera before of course, but on a much, much smaller scale.
