Sheridan Smith takes centre stage in sophisticated dress at German premiere of Quartet

She scrubs up well: Sheridan Smith takes centre stage in sophisticated dress at German premiere of Quartet

She recently said she's played ‘mainly slappers and chavs’ throughout her career so far.
But while Sheridan Smith may play them on screen, off screen she proved that she’s every inch the glamorous film star.
The blonde haired actress made sure all eyes were on her as she attended the German premiere of her latest film and Dustin Hoffman’s directorial debut Quartet.

The 31-year-old looked sophisticated in a skirt which fell just below her knees.
While the pencil skirt was black, she teamed it with a pretty patterned silver top, which was cinched in at the waist.
Sheridan showed off her slim legs by going bare-legged with open-toe black heels.

Wearing her hair off her face in a glamorous up do, Sheridan wore dark eye make-up which accentuated her pretty eyes.
The Gavin and Stacey star was accompanied by Dame Gwyneth Jones and Tom Courtenay, as well as the director himself Dustin Hoffman and his wife Lisa Gottsegen.
Sheridan recently spoke to Digital Spy about working alongside the cast of the film, which includes Billy Connolly.

She said: ‘I can't believe little old me is beside all that acting royalty,
‘Billy's brilliant. He's good at ad-libbing, he can throw some extra things in. A lot of it was genuine laughter and flirting.
‘He's got a little twinkle, Billy. I think Dr Cogan has a little soft spot for him even though he does overstep the line sometimes with his comments.’

The film, which is based on the play with the same title by Ronald Harwood, stars Maggie Smith, Tom  Courtenay, Pauline Collins, and Billy Connolly.
The four well-known actors play retired opera singers who put on an annual concert to celebrate Verdi’s birthday.
However when Maggie Smith’s character arrives it disrupts the equilibrium resulting in old rivalries resurfacing until it becomes unclear if the show will go on.
