Irina Shayk strips off as she makes her film debut as sultry love interest in epic fantasy Hercules

We're Shayking all over! Irina strips off as she makes her film debut as sultry love interest in epic fantasy Hercules

She’s easily justified her reputation as one of the world’s most marketable models, but Irina Shayk is preparing to take her career in a new direction with the release of epic fantasy adventure Hercules.
The sultry Russian makes her cinematic debut in the new film, starring alongside comparative veterans Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson – who plays the titular lead – Ian McShane and John Hurt.
Taking the role of Hercules’ love interest Megara, Irina, 28, is given plenty of screen time in the action packed fantasy, adapted from the graphic novel Hercules: The Thracian Wars by Steve Moore - including a scene that sees her strip off for a bath.

The film, one of two Hercules adventures to be released in 2014, introduces us to Hercules after he completes his fabled twelve labours – but he is soon tested when the King of Thrace, played by Hurt, enlists his help in overthrowing an evil warlord.
Directed by Brett Ratner with a budget of $110 million, the film relies on CGI to breathe life into the Thracian word created by graphic novelist Moore.
The new film sees Johnson do battle with a series of legendary creatures, amongst them the nine headed Lernaean Hydra, the Nemean Lion, the Erymanthian Boar and the three-headed dog Cerberus.

Ratner’s latest movie follows unrelated box office disappointment The Legend of Hercules, which was released to lukewarm critical responses in January.
Referring to the film’s disappointing reception earlier this year, Johnson remained confident that it would bear no impact on his own version of the Hercules legend.
He told USA Today: ‘When a movie is not built on a foundation of passion then you roll the dice and run the risk of making something that is not up to par. And I think in that case, that was the type of movie that they made. It came, it went, and I believe it had no impact on our movie.
'I think it helped our movie because of the quality of the movie that they made. But we made a good movie.
He added: ‘When you make a good movie you have got a shot of doing okay at the box office. What I am confident about is the connection we will have with the audience.’
Hercules is released through Paramount on July 25.
