So it's perhaps fitting that Melanie Sykes poured her assets into a dramatic, floor-length dress for the Miss Manchester awards on Friday.
The brunette, 45, commanded attention as she arrived at the city's Palace Hotel in a no-nonsense number.

Looking fabulous in her choice of attire, the native northerner sported a lengthy dress with shimmer detail for a glitzy effect.
She matched the look with a pair of open-toed sandals and a rigid clutch bag, also in gold.
Wearing her hair down in a glossy side-parting, she was clearly dressed to impress.

Posing up a storm on the red carpet, she certainly smouldered and was justified in judging the contestants of the annual beauty pageant.
In fact, it was probably one of her better sartorial offerings.

Strutting her stuff at Piccadilly Train Station, the mother-of-two ensured she turned heads in a khaki summer dress which left little room for imagination.
She capped the look with a stonewash denim jacket - which added some modesty-preserving cleavage cover-up.
She also sported a pair of designer sunglasses for the occasion, which saw her hair scraped up into a fashionably messy bun.

Naturally, Melanie is well-qualified to assess to hopefuls in the beauty pageant.
The presenter works on reformer pilates a couple of times a week and trains twice a week, a workout which features one hour of cardio and one of weights.
Melanie recently revealed that she is 'softer' than she used to be because she changed her training with a different body shape in mind.
Speaking to The Mirror, Mel said: 'I have got body confidence, yeah. I know how I look. I’m fit. I changed my training and I’m softer now.

The superfit mum, who also practises Barre, was even named the new ambassador for Manuka Life Yoga exercise gear this week and models their AW16 collection.
