Rising star Lily-Rose Depp rocks a plunging white gown and edgy bolero jacket as she makes a fashion-forward Met Gala debut

So Lily-Rose Depp naturally chose the French fashion giant as her designer for her debut turn on the red carpet at the Met Gala in New York in Monday.
The 16-year-old model dazzled in her tweed gown designed by the luxury brand while topping up the glamorous look with an oversized bomber jacket.

Lily-Rose proved she knows exactly how to work it on the red carpet as she pouted and posed - not phased by the mega stars surrounding her.
Her dress tumbled straight down to just below her ankles and was boxy in shape before extending into a halterneck at the top.
The daughter of Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis ensured her dress did not age her with the quirky addition of a floral bomber jacket.
Upon closer inspection, Lily's gown was adorned with layers and layers of intricate detailing including lace set upon lines of beading of gold and diamante-style.

Coordinating with her dress was her oversized bomber jacket which was emblazoned with flowers and beading with a shimmering lining added a youthful touch.
Proving the clue was all in the details, Lily added golden shoes with delicate straps alongside her matching floating diamond pendant and earrings.
Her tresses were styled into loose waves before being gathered into an elegant chignon with tendrils framing her perfectly made-up face.
She kept her make-up natural - allowing her natural good looks to shine through - while outlining her eyes in a purple shadow and sporting a taupe lip.

The Met Gala is hosted this year by Taylor Swift as well as Editor of American Vogue Anna Wintour, Idris Elba, and Jonathan Ive, chief design officer of Apple.
Wintour took over as chairwoman of the gala in 1999.
Since then, she has transformed what was once a local fundraiser into one of the world's most elite costume parties that ranks as a celeb magnet only equaled by the Academy Awards red carpet - with A-listers hungry for a chance to be the muse of a fashion designer.
The honorary chairs are the Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld; Miuccia Prada; and Nicolas Ghesquière, Louis Vuitton’s artistic director.
All will be in attendance except for Mr. Lagerfeld, who will be in Cuba because the Chanel Cruise show is in Havana the day after the gala, according to the New York Times.

The newspaper added that tickets this year are $30,000 apiece, and tables are $275,000. The party and exhibit are sponsored (this year Apple is the main underwriter), so all the money raised from ticket sales goes to the Costume Institute. Last year, more than $12.5 million was raised.
While the price of a ticket may itself be an insurmountable bar for most, the event is also invite only, with Wintour presiding meticulously over the guest list, which predictably includes film stars, pop sensations, and fashion models each year - with the addition most recently of reality stars.
The theme for this year's ball is Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology, which seeks to prove that the machine is an 'equal protagonist' to the hand in creating the best fashions of our recent past, our present and our future.
