Everyone already knows that she has an incredible figure, even for a woman half her age.

So it's curious why Jennifer Lopez went the extra mile on Thursday to flaunt her toned physique yet again.

The 45-year-old American Idol host captioned her self portrait - taken with her iPhone in a mirror - 'Ready to go! #timetowork' as she headed off to the set of American Idol for her judging duties.

The Booty singer not only flashed a black bra in her mesh crop top, but she also showed off her abs.

Her arms looked lean and like they had been to the gym a lot. The mother of two also wore a flirty looking white mesh skirt with a satin waist.

Jenny From The Block looked edgy in her Bronx-style silver and diamond hoop earrings that hung to her shoulders.

The ex-wife of Marc Anthony also showed off hot pink pointy nails that matched her lipstick and some very dark eyeliner.

Big diamond rings were on both her hands.

On Wednesday night J-Lo was on American Idol, where she was wowed by some of the performances. 

Keith Urban and Harry Connick Jr were struggling to describe just how much they loved teenage talent Qaasim Middleton. 

The show opened with Aretha Frankling performing before an audience in Detroit, Michigan as viewers learned which singers were advancing.

Qaasim was the penultimate singer and the 19-year-old hopeful from Brooklyn, New York took on Stevie Wonder's I Wish and threw in some impressive dance moves. 

'The most common question we get asked all the time is, What are we looking for,’ Harry said.

'That's what we’re looking for!’ he said.

’You’re so damn funky it’s CRAZY!’ Jen said excitedly, getting the audience to cheer along in agreement.

'You just own that stage,' she told Qaasim who looked dashing in a sharp suit and red and white checked shirt .

Keith also had high praise for him.

'Watching you in front of an audience is what it’s all about. When you get in front of an audience you just explode - it’s where you live, it’s where you breathe. So glad you’re here, man,' Keith said.

The latest round of the long-runnng TV talent show was once again at the famed The Fillmore Detroit and played tribute to the city’s most famous sounds with the contestants all taking on Motown classics.

And one of Detroit’s most famous daughters, Aretha Franklin, showed them all how it should be done as she opened the show singing I Will Survive.

After she was finished, Aretha - dressed casually in a black leather jacket and black jeans - got an admiring standing ovation from all the judges as well as wild applause from the audience.

The rest of her American Idol colleagues were dressed in sombre shades of black, grey and dark blue.

But Jennifer Lopez obviously didn't get the email about attire for today's Fox presentation at the Winter Television Critics Association Tour at the Langham Hotel in Pasadena, California.

The beautiful talent show judge stood out in a calf-length, fit and flare skirt in eye-poppingly bright red satin.

The voluminous folds of fabric glinted and reflected the bright lights on the stage as she sat in the center of the panel talking about the upcoming 14th season of Idol.

She teamed it with a white sleeveless silk crop top featuring a high neckline and cut away to reveal her shoulders. It winkled up as she posed on the carpet, revealing a glimpse of her tummy.

The hitmaker completed her elegant outfit with black high-heeled pumps and black and white leather clutch bag.

Perfectly made-up as always, J.Lo pulled her thick brunette tresses back into a ponytail and she accessorised with large gold hoop earrings.

The 45-year-old was joined by host Ryan Seacrest, musician-judge Keith Urban, musician-judge Harry Connick, Jr. and executive producers Trish Kinane and Per Blankens.

With the audience for the former juggernaut show dropping precipitously from the 29.29 million who watched the 2011 finale to the 10.14 million who tuned in for last May's wrap, the producers revealed they are changing things up.

Scott Borchetta, the man who discovered Taylor Swift and founded Big Machine Records, will replace longtime judge-mentor Randy Jackson, who announced he was leaving in November, TVLine reported.

Adding colour to the stage: J.Lo was joined by other members of the Idol team including, from left, host Ryan Seacrest, judge Keith Urban and judge Harry Connick Jr.

'My job will be helping the artists understand who they are, what their vision is and what the arena is for them to really go after it and be an individual,' Scott said.

Trish added: '[The contestants] are going to go out into the world and try to have a career. We wanted to put someone in the mix really early on that has an investment in what happens to these kids in the end.'

She also covered other changes to Idol, including once-a-week live shows that will combine an elimination with a new round of performances. And contestants will do one extra performance in front of a crowd at the House of Blues.

Don Henley and Stevie Nicks were nowhere to be found, but Jennifer Lopez gladly provided all the leather and lace at a party in LA on Monday.

The 44-year-old star was seen arriving at the Fox TCA party in Pasadena, California in a rather racy little black dress. 

The American Idol judge was draped in a black leather and lace number that was sure to turn heads at the gala event.

LBD: The 44-year-old multifaceted star donned a leather and lace dress, brown and black heels with jewel accents, and various sparkly jewelry

The dress featured a rather daring sheer panel that put plenty of cleavage on show.

She also wore a pair of dark brown and black heels with jewel accents.

The On The Floor singer completed the ensemble with a small black and brown leather clutch and sparkly jewelry in the form of earings, rings, and a bracelet.

Fiery red: Though the svelte star wore a racy dress with shiny jewelry, it was her lipstick that seemed to pop the most

The Maid In Manhattan star looked as svelte as ever as she posed for the cameras.

J.Lo seemed to be enjoying her time during the TCA as she was spotted whispering something to Keith Urban, 46, during a panel for American Idol earlier on in the day.

And she got plenty of use out of her outfit as she also wore it for an appearance on The Tonight Show.

She seemed to have a great time having a chin wag with Jay Leno, and reminiced on her first appearance on the show away back in 1997.

The Out Of Sight actress then leaned over and spoke to a smiling Keith, who clearly found whatever she said amusing.

Jennifer was seated between Keith and first-time judge Harry Connick Jr. during the session as they promoted the upcoming season.

The multifaceted star is being paid a mind-boggling $17.5m to return as a judge this coming season.

'There was a lot of back and forth negotiating on her salary, but now it's finally been settled that Jennifer will earn $17.5m to go back to Idol next season,' a source told MailOnline exclusively.

'It's a major coup for her to land a huge payday like that and I believe she is thrilled with that number. It's a lot more than the $15m Britney Spears was paid to do The X Factor.'

The $17.5m salary is quite a leap from the $12m paycheck J-Lo was handed for her first season of Idol in 2011. For her second season she was given a $3m raise to $15m.

Kiefer Sutherland and his 24 co-star Mary Lynn Rajskub both enjoyed a night out, with Mary Lynn sporting a tan and black dress.

The actor scored a surprise victory in the Best Actor In A TV Comedy for Brooklyn Nine-Nine which also won for Best TV Comedy. 

He was joined by his comedy co-stars Melissa Fumero and Chelsea Peretti who both made a stunning effort in the sartorial stakes at the event
