They've been dating for almost five years, but they're really ever seen together.

Even though Gemma Chan and Jack Whitehall broke their own rule on Tuesday night when they put in a joint appearance at the Royal Television Society Programme Awards 2016.

Gemma enjoyed her moment alone on the red carpet, flying solo in a seriously chic double hem dress and simple court shoes.

The Humans actress, who met her comedian boyfriend on E4 hit show Fresh Meat in 2011, cut a sophisticated figure in a sleeveless dress in gold and green stripes.

It cut in at the waist and featured a double, bubble hemline to create volume and cut off at the calf to reveal her slender legs.

Jack, meanwhile, was looking sharp in a black suit and shiny shoes, no doubt hotly anticipating a turn on stage to collect the Entertainment Performance prize, for which he was nominated.

Though the League Of Their Own presenter faces strong competition in his category with big winners Ant & Dec also nominated, alongside Adam Hills for The Last Leg.

Gemma wasn't just there on the night to support her man, since she was also nominated on behalf of Channel 4 sci-fi drama Humans.

The brunette plays the lead role of the synth Anita and will no doubt be called upon to accept the award in the Drama Series category, should it triumph over No Offence and The Last Kingdom.

Along with the rare red carpet appearances, the pair are also quiet on the romance, with Gemma recently refusing to answer questions about him in conversation with The Telegraph.

She said: 'If I answer one question about him it tends to become the headline and then my heart sinks.' 

Jack and Gemma, though deciding to fly under the radar with solo photo calls, would enjoy the night in top company.

She has become one of Britain's hottest actresses thanks to huge roles on War and Peace and Dickensian. 

And Tuppence Middleton looked every inch the A-lister as she led the glamour at the Evening Standard British Film Awards in London on Sunday night.

The 28-year-old looked sensational as she was one of the first stars to arrive on the red carpet.

Showing off her slim figure, the newly blonde actress made a daring style statement in a plunging red velvet jumpsuit.

Showing off her porcelain decolletage in the racy number, Tuppence added a tuxedo jacket to amp up the androgynous glamour.

The beauty - who is presented an award on stage - was among the great and the good of the UK film industry flocked to the BBC Television Centre for the awards.

She was swiftly followed by nominee Emma Thompson, who has a nod in the Best Comedy Performance for The Legend of Barney Thomson.

With her short blonde locks swept up, Emma looked glowing - and certainly glowed with pride when she was joined on the red carpet by her daughter, Gaia.

The teen have her famous mum a run for her money in the style stakes as she opted for a metallic grey jumpsuit, and cosied up to the actress for several pictures.

Game of Thrones actress Maisie Williams also enjoyed a successful night in the style stakes, wearing a red silk playsuit which suited her age perfectly. 

The 18-year-old kept her hair and make-up simple, allowing the eye-catching number to work its magic.

Looking fabulous in florals was actress Emilia Fox, who went for all-out glamour in a strapless gown embroidered with daisies.

She complimented the A-list look with a huge diamond necklace, while her blonde locks were swept into a chic up-do. 

Luther favourite Idris Elba is up for Best Actor, but will have to fight off stiff competition in the best actor category from stars including Michael Fassbender for his performance as Apple founder Steve Jobs, Mad Max: Fury Road star Tom Hardy and Sir Tom Courtenay.

In the best film category 45 Years is tipped again, alongside Brooklyn, High-Rise and Olivia Coleman's film The Lobster, which is also nominated for best comedy.

Coleman and co-star Colin Farrell go head-to-head in the comedy category with Emma Thompson for her performance in The Legend Of Barney Thomson and the team behind Shakespeare film Bill - Richard Bracewell, Laurence Rickard and Ben Willbond.

Game Of Thrones actress Maisie Williams is nominated for the rising star award in recognition of her performance in The Falling alongside Tom Browne, the 48-year-old director of Radiator, model-turned actress Agyness Deyn and X+Y actor Jake Davies.

Friends star Matthew Perry hosts the awards to be presented by Vanessa Redgrave and Stanley Tucci.

One's known for her eccentric love of the edgy punk rock look, while the other is faithful to ladylike fashion.

But that all changed on Wednesday evening when Jaime Winstone attended the opening gala for the Edinburgh International Film Festival and matched Karen Gillan's elegant parred down palette for a classic red carpet display.

Posing up a storm in front of the cameras at the Edinburgh Festival Theatre, the 30-year-old went for vintage glamour in a 50s inspired plunging midi dress.

Clinched in at the waist, the ivory jacquard number featured a deep V-cut neckline and the full pleated circle skirt stopped just below the knee.

Wearing her brunette hair in a chic updo, Jaime was almost unrecognisable as she posed for photographers at the event.

Lining her pout with a shade of plum lipstick, Winstone opted for dark eyeshadow as she added height to her look with metallic open toe heels.

She offset a pretty floral dress and a structured vintage handbag with some black chunky boots, to prove that she had the authority on chic throwback looks.

Making his directorial debut: Robert's film The Legend Of Barney Thomson opened the film festival

Scottish actress Ashley Jensen, Kyle Patrick Alvarez and Dolly Wells were also among stars at the gala which was opened by The Legend Of Barney Thomson, which is Robert Carlyle's directorial debut. 

Written by Richard Cowan and Colin McLaren, the motion picture stars Carlyle, Jensen, Ray Winstone, Emma Thompson and James Cosmo. 

The film is a dark comedy which tells the story of Barney, an awkward barber who inadvertently stumbles into a serial murder. 

The grand opening of EIFF also saw Ian Hart, Sophie Kennedy Clark, Eunice Olumide, Kenneth Turan, Outlander star Sam Heughan and Beaver Falls' Samuel Robertson in tow.
