Singer Pete Burns has died aged 57, his manager has confirmed.

Burns, from Wirral, Merseyside, founded band Dead or Alive in 1980 but went on to feature in several reality television shows in later life.
His death comes just days before his band's compilation album Sophisticated Boom Box MMXVI was due to be released on October 28.

He appeared on Celebrity Big Brother in 2006, pictured, where he gained more fame for his 'scathing' verbal attacks on housemates
Earlier this year Burns admitted he has endured more 300 procedures to fix botched surgery on his face, which left him depressed and fighting for his life.
The star - who likened himself to Frankenstein's monster - vowed to never stop going under the knife in the pursuit for physical perfection.
He declared: 'The number of surgeries I’ve has is probably 300. I hope when I’m 80 and I get to heaven God doesn’t recognise me.'
Burns said his obsession with changing his face started more than two decades ago at the time of his chart success with You Spin Me Round.
'I realised I was going to be a visual entity and that I had to look good', he said.
'I had a broken nose. In the punk days somebody head butted me in Liverpool and it went over to one side.'
The star splashed out £750 to go under the knife in the quest for the perfect nose, but knew when he woke up 'covered in blood' that things had gone wrong.

The reconstructive surgery that followed was the first of dozens of corrective treatments, including four nose jobs, two sets of cheekbone implants and lip plumping.
But his lip augmentation also went badly wrong - and the filler injected into his pout began spreading all over his face.
He said: 'I started to develop holes in my skin and if I so much as touched my face there would be an audible hissing and out onto the mirror would vomit this yellow fluid.'
After suing the surgeon and receiving £450k in compensation, Burns underwent around 200 surgeries over the space of two years to fix the problem.
He said: 'I’ve had a major operation a week for two years to remove it from my cheeks where it had migrated, my Adam’s apple, the back of my eyes.
'They couldn’t do anything about the liver and the kidneys. I had to excrete that out.'
The large amount of medication he was taking had a massive effect on his health, and he ended up being rushed to hospital.
He said: 'I developed blood clots and pulmonary embolisms in my legs, heart and lungs.'

Many fans, followers and friends took to Twitter to post tributes to Burns.
Editor of the Gay Times magazine Darren Scott tweeted a picture of the celebrity hugging him.
He wrote: 'Very sad to hear the news that Pete Burns has passed away. He was always a gent and hilarious to speak with. A legend.'
Stylist Cesare Polini did the same and said: 'RIP to a legend. Love to Lynn, Michael. You were an absolute joy to be around. Clever and fast like no other#PeteBurns'
Virgin radio presenter Jamie East tweeted:'So desperately sad to hear about Pete Burns. A true pop icon and a really, really fun fella to work and hang out with. Sleep well buddy'

Broadcaster and writer Roo Green said: 'Remember when pop stars weren't media trained to within an inch of their life? Pete Burns was a provocative, quirky, glorious one-of-a-kind'
And fan Emily Estelle added: 'So sad to hear about Pete Burns. This year really is taking away legends RIP Pete Burns.'
Samuel Preston, the Ordinary Boys frontman who appeared on Celebrity Big Brother alongside the singer in 2006, tweeted: 'Heartbroken to hear about Pete Burns. He was a true punk rocker and one of the kindest hearts I've ever know. Gutted.'
According to an interview with the Guardian in 2003, Burns dropped out of his all-boys school in Liverpool aged 14 after he was summoned to the headmaster's office 'with no eyebrows, Harmony-red hair and one gigantic earring'.
He later started working at record shop Probe Records, before playing in bands.
One such group was Nightmares in Wax, formed in Liverpool in 1979, which changed to Dead Or Alive a year later after several members were replaced.
They had a brief spell of success in the mid 1980s, beginning with a cover version of KC and the Sunshine Band's That's the Way (I Like It).
A year later they released worldwide hit You Spin Me Round, even making the top 20 in the US.
The band's popularity soon waned, although they released seven albums between 1984 and 2000.

Geordie Shore's Marnie Simpson strips NAKED for seductive photoshoot between the sheets... 'ahead of Celebrity Big Brother appearance'

The Celebrity Big Brother title has twice been taken by Geordie Shore alumni.
And with rumours that Marnie Simpson is due to be the latest MTV star to make an appearance, she was surely hoping to make an impact, early on.
Raising her profile with a seductive photoshoot, the 24-year-old Newcastle lass is seen posing completely naked on the day that she's due to join fellow stars inside the Summer 2016 house.

Not one to shy away from a nude mirror selfie, the brunette is seen wearing nothing but pink lipgloss in a bedroom.
She teases her slender curves as she sits on white sheets, pulling provocative poses with her waist-length tresses tossed about in a bedhead style.
Marnie has previously shocked with photos that show her naked in front of the mirror or in the bath with just emojis to preserve her modesty.

MARNIE SIMPSON

Age: 24
Claim to fame: Geordie Shore star
Marnie is hoping to follow in the footsteps of her MTV co-stars Scotty T and Charlotte Crosby, who have both won the show in the past thanks to Geordie Shore's strong fan base.
The party-mad Geordie girl is currently single after splitting from her on/off love interest Aaron Timlin, and came out as bisexual earlier this year.
Known for her flirtatious nature and alcohol-fuelled temper tantrums, Marnie will no doubt get sparks flying in the house.
Preparing for a stint on the show as a singleton, the reality TV star is sure to set pulses racing as one of the eligible contestants.
The hotly-anticipated series follows on from the January 2016 installment, which saw Marnie's co-star Scotty T emerge victorious.
And ahead of the official launch on Thursday, the brand new line-up was leaked online with the likes of X Factor reject Katie Waissel and US beauty Aubrey O'Day leading the famous faces.
The 13 alleged contestants, which were shared online by The Sun, also include TOWIE’s Lewis Bloor, panto legend Christopher Biggins and Ariana Grande's brother Frankie.
Producers for the Channel 5 show were reportedly working hard to secure more talent, so viewers can expect a few surprise additions at the last minute.
Emma Willis will naturally be back to host the main show, just days after the non-celebrity version ended, while Rylan Clark returns for the Bit On The Side spin-off.
The series comes hot on the heels of regular Big Brother, which concluded on Tuesday evening, making it one of the quickest ever turnarounds.

KATIE WAISSEL

Age: 30
Claim to fame: Forgetting her words on The X Factor
Katie rose to fame when she appeared on The X Factor in 2010, becoming one of the most memorable contestants of all time.
The quirky singer failed to win over the public and forgot her words onstage, causing outrage when she was saved by the judges three times in a row.
The reality star reject - who tied the knot with partner Brian Moote last year - hit the headlines in subsequent years when she lashed out at her former mentor Cheryl.

RENEE GRAZIANO

Age: 48
Claim to fame: Mob Wives star
Fiery US reality star Renee Graziano will certainly bring plenty of drama to the Channel 5 series.
Graziano - little known in the UK - will be 'controversial' addition to the house, claims The Sun.
A source said: 'Renee is set to be an explosive housemate - she takes no prisoners, and she won't stand any nonsense.'

HELEN LEDERER

Age: 61
Claim to fame: Absolutely Fabulous favourite
Helen is best known for playing dippy Catriona in Absolutely Fabulous and is currently starring in Hollyoaks.
The veteran actress looks set to be the voice of reason in the house and could prove a public favourite.
CBB bosses have been desperate to sign her up for years; she previously turned down the opportunity in 2009 because of a filming clash.

CHRISTOPHER BIGGINS

Age: 67
Claim to fame: TV and panto legend
Biggins has enjoyed a lengthy career in television before moving into pantomine.
He has starred in 1970s shows like Porridge and has since become a reality show regular, appearing on like Come Dine with Me and MasterChef, as well as winning I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! in 2007.
According to The Sun, he has inked a £150,000 deal for his stint on the show, making him one of the highest paid contestants ever.
The likes of Ex On The Beach's Ashleigh Defty and former Coronation Street star Helen Flanagan had initially been rumoured to be entering the CBB house, but it seems there was no truth to the claims.
No sooner did news break than betting had already begun; William Hill make former King of the Jungle Biggins the 7/2 favourite to win the series, while Marnie Simpson is 4/1 and Frankie Grande 6/1.
MailOnline has contacted a CBB representative for comment.
The brand new series kicks off on Thursday July 28 at 9pm on Channel 5.

AUBREY O'DAY

Age: 32
Claim to fame: US reality star
Aubrey rose to fame in 2004 on MTV reality show Making the Band 3, created by Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs.
She won a place in girl band Danity Kane, who toured with the likes of the Pussycat Dolls and Christina Aguilera, before she was axed from the band due to her split with Diddy.
While not a household name in the UK, the buxom blonde still makes headlines in the US due to her romance with Jersey Shore's Pauly D.
