She's on a roll! Jacqueline Jossa leads the glamour at the Inside Soap Awards in stunning dress with sheer back as she takes home prize for Best Actress

She beat off competition from Coronation Street’s Julie Hesmondhalgh, Emmerdale actress Lesley Dunlop and Michelle Keegan to be crowned Best Actress.

So it’s no surprise that Jacqueline Jossa wanted to dress to impress when she picked up the accolade at the Inside Soap Awards on Monday evening.

The EastEnders star turned heads in punky prom inspired dress featuring a tulle skirt and daring sheer back as she walked the red carpet at the event held at Ministry Of Sound.

The 20-year-old looked a far cry from her character Lauren Branning, in the elegant dress which featured stunning beaded detailing on the top section.

Making sure the dress took centre stage the actress wore her hair off her face in a sophisticated chignon, while she accentuated her eyes with smouldering eye make-up.

Jacqueline has been involved in some excellent story lines over the last year – including of course her character’s struggle with alcohol.

It was a successful evening for EastEnders  as Tameka Empson was declared funniest female for her role as Kim Fox.

The soap also picked up two awards for its younger cast, with Khali Best named best newcomer as Dexter Hartman and Maisie Smith winning best young actor as Tiffany Butcher.

Jacqueline wasn’t however the the only soap star who tried to turn heads as they appeared on the red carpet.

Daring: EastEnders actress Hetti Bywater showed off her very slim legs in a short dress featuring a plunging neckline

Coronation Street actress Georgia May Foote opted for a similar dress which featured an equally as intricate top.

Hollyoaks actress Jennifer Metcalfe opted for a sophisticated ensemble showing off just a glimpse of her midriff in a cropped polo neck jumper with a below the knee skirt.

Her co-star Gemma Merna went for an entirely different look – leaving very little to the imagination in a PVC yellow dress with a chain neck detail.

The low-cut nature of the frock meant the blonde actress had plenty of cleavage on show as she walked the red carpet.

Jorgie Porter, who is also part of the McQueen family slipped into a smart leopard-print suit for the occasion, but ensuring it wasn’t entirely formal she showed off some cleavage.

Coronation Street star Brooke Vincent also opted for a suit, well one half of one at least, in a cream, double-breasted jacket which showed off her slim legs.

Former The Only Way is Essex star Lauren Goodger flaunted her curves in a black and white bandage dress, with cut-out panels around the waist.

She tweeted a picture of herself to her 1.1million followers on Twitter during the event, with the caption: 'Love my dress from @celebboutique thank you guys #soapawards'.

EastEnders' Rachel Bright was much more covered up for the occasion in a spotty, monochrome dress, with white collar, while her dark hair was worn in an up do.

Michelle Keegan and Mark Wright engaged after he proposes on the beach during romantic Dubai holiday

Mark Wright and Michelle Keegan are engaged, after he proposed on the beach during a romantic break in Dubai.

Sources confirmed the happy news to MailOnline, adding that the former TOWIE star popping the question came as quite a shock to Coronation Street actress Michelle Keegan. 

A source said: 'It was a really big surprise for Michelle. Mark proposed to her on the beach during their holiday in Dubai.'

According to reports, Mark went all out with his ring choice, opting for a stunning five-carat diamond for his girl.

Neither Mark nor Michelle have commented so far on the news but, being avid Twitter users, are expected to make some kind of confirmation in the next few days. 

Mark is said to have decided to pop the question to Michelle in Dubai because the holiday destination holds special memories for the celebrity couple.

The pair first got together at a New Year's Eve party in Dubai last December, and have rarely been seen apart since.

It remains to be see how the engagement news will go down with Mark's former fiancée Lauren Goodger, to whom he was engaged during his time on ITV2 show The Only Way Is Essex.

Mark called off the engagement in August 2011 amid claims she had cheated on him.

While their engagement last just a few months, the pair had been in an on and off relationship for nine years. 

Michelle has also been engaged before, to The Wanted's Max George. However, she also called off her engagement in July 2012, with the singer later confirming the pair had split.

The pair, who met in December 2010 before getting engaged the following June, initially cited conflicting schedules as the reason for the split, but Max was later accused of sexting his ex-girlfriend during his relationship with Michelle.

Lauren Goodger was voted off Dancing On Ice on Sunday night after going head-to-head with Anthea Turner.

The former Only Way Is Essex star was unanimously chosen by all the judges to leave following her debut earlier that evening.

After learning of her fate, the fake tan entrepreneur, 25, admitted she was 'gutted'.

She said: 'I'm absolutely fine. I'm gutted. I met some amazing people. It's been a great experience.'

Judge Karen Barber praised them both for trying: 'Congratulations to both of you, you did your best. Tonight I am going to save Anthea.'

Jason Gardiner, who had earlier complained Lauren's performance had 'the sensuality of a walrus on ice', said: 'One of you was elegant, beautiful; and committed. For the other, the only way is through the back door.'

Ashley Roberts agreed: 'Tonight I'm saving who was really committed with enthusiasm. I'm saving Anthea.'

Although he didn't need to vote, head judge Robin Cousins agreed: 'You both needed what you needed to do. I would have saved Anthea.'

Lauren and Anthea ended up in the bottom two after receiving the least amount of viewer votes.

Former breakfast presenter Anthea said she always knew she would be in the skate-off: 'Mentally I'd always prepared myself for the skate-off.'

However, Lauren was less confident before taking to the ice for her second skate of the evening: 'I'm absolutely terrified. I'm scared about my save me skate.'

She went on to perform to Motown classic Rescue Me in a yellow ensemble, having earlier worn black and red to skate to Alicia Keys' Girl On Fire.

Meanwhile, Anthea and her partner Andrew Buchanan danced to Minnie Riperton's Lovin' You.

Earlier that evening, former rugby ace Gareth Thomas had ended up at top of the leaderboard with Joe Pacquale at the bottom.

The comedian and his partner Vicky Ogden were the first to find out they had survived another week, followed by Oona King and her partner Mark Hanretty.

Also safe were Olympian boxer Luke Campbell and Gareth.

Lauren's exit means she is the second celebrity to leave this year's series, following Pamela Anderson's shock departure last week.

It's only Week 2 and it looks like Dancing On Ice judge Jason Gardiner is back to his Mr Nasty persona.

The choreographer gave a 3 to Lauren Goodger and her partner Michael Zenezini on Sunday's show, complaining their performance had 'all the sensuality of a walrus on ice'.

The former Only Way Is Essex star, 25, was incredibly nervous and had a further blow to her confidence during training when she suffered some falls during dress rehearsals.

The tanning entrepreneur and the French champion were the second to skate, performing to Alicia Keys's single Girl On Fire

She ended up getting 4 from all the judges, except Jason, who gave her a 3, meaning she had a disappointing total of 15.0.

Jason said: 'There was no connection, no heart. There was no sensuality... it had the sensuality of a walrus on ice.

'This was a beautiful piece and you could have made a lot more with it. Very disappointing.'

Robin Cousins agreed the performance was lacking: 'You did the steps. But you did them as if you'd just been given them. A little tentative. There were limited steps.

'You have to be more confident and not rely on Michael. It was adequate. You need to own it.'

Lauren took the comments on board and admitted she was 'very, very nervous'.

She said: 'I'm going to try my best and hope I'll be here for week 2. It's completely new. I don't want to go.'

Former rugby star Gareth Thomas was the first to skate with his partner Robin Johnstone, performed a rocky number to The Killers' All These Things That I've Done.

The judges with skating backgrounds both gave him high marks, while the dance judges weren't so flattering, leaving him with a total of 22.5.

Head judge Robin said: 'That was strong, powerful, there was solo-skating, crossovers, footwear was absolutely correct. I have to give you the credit for what your feet were doing and as a partner with the lifts.'

However, Jason urged him to perform more: 'It wasn't a bad opening. I was expecting you to be a disaster because you were a rugby player. You moved very confidently on the ice.

'You had good speed. I'm not getting enough of the light and shade from you. You've got the makings of someone who will go far in the competition.'

However, Jason's arch-rival Karen disagreed: 'I didn't feel that performance needed more light and shade. You performed it powerfully. There was a performance and there was that strength.'

Third to skate was comedian Joe Pasquale put on a flamboyant performance to Queen track Flash with his partner Vicky Ogden.

Towards the end of the dance, he attempted to do a pretend trip, but ended up slipping for real and ending up crashing on the stage.

He ended up with a lowly 14.0, including a 2 from Jason.

Karen was blunt with her opinion: 'He works so hard every day and there's no natural ability. Ice and skates and Joe just makes us laugh. It was entertaining.'

Jason said: 'The only 10 you're going to hear from me is ten-tative. Everything looked like you were on the brink of falling over.

'The only thing that was solid was the lift. Try and work on the technical aspects of this competition.'

Labour Party politician Oona King surprised viewers with her performance to Enough Is Enough with partner Mark Hanretty.

She proved to be a pretty competent skater, ending up with a total of 20.5 - meaning she was second on the leaderboard.

A natural: Oona was praised by Robin Cousins for her 'natural instinct with the skating'

However, Jason was harsh with his score of 3.5, explaining: 'The arms looked like they were bringing in a plane. I wanted to see a little more sassiness. With your entrances and exits, you need to take care.'

However, head judge Robin disagreed: 'The skating is more than there. There is a natural instinct with the skating. There is a softness about your core. Fantastic.'

Next to skate was Olympic boxer Luke Campbell and his partner Jenna Smith.

Cutting: Despite being a boxer Jason told him 'There isn't the strength in the upper body'

There was a clear nod to his background as images of him winning the Olympics were projected on to the ice, with the song of choice being Gold by The Wanted.

However, he received a score of 18.5 with the judges agreeing he was too rigid on the ice.

Ashley said: 'You've got such a warm energy. When you started with the punches at the beginning... but the excitement didn't maintain throughout the performance.'

Jason was cutting as ever: 'I think there is potential. You're an Olympic boxer... but you looked like a weak feeble boy out there. There isn't the strength in the upper body.'

TV presenter Anthea Turner was the last to skate, performing with partner Andrew Buchanan to Adele's Skyfall.

During the VT Anthea was seen becoming emotional after a surprise visit from her husband Grant Bovey and her stepdaughters.

Following the visit a teary Anthea admitted that she just wanted to make them all proud and it seems she certainly managed it.

After her performance Robin said: ‘The positions were exquisite from the word go. I need to see more skating from Anthea Turner on the ice separate from Andy.

Karen agreed saying: ‘Great start. In the lifts you had the most beautiful positions.’

As did Ashley who added: ‘The lifts were beautiful. You were engaged with your partner. I enjoyed it.’

Even Jason was impressed saying: ‘You looked beautiful. There were lovely moments with the body.’

She ended up receiving 4.5 from each judge, in a rare agreement from them giving her a total of 18.0.

The six celebrities skated for the first time on Sunday after Pamela Anderson was the first to be voted off last week.

She performed along with Samia Ghadie, Matt Lapinskas, Beth Tweddle, Keith Chegwin and Shayne Ward and their partners in Week 1, who briefly performed in a group dance at the beginning of the episode.
