A very Minions Christmas! Loveable characters do their own brand of carol singing in funny video

A very Minions Christmas! Loveable characters do their own brand of carol singing in funny video

Minions fans will have to wait until July next year to see them back on the big screen, but they got a Christmas treat this week when the creators released a viral video.
In it, the loveable yellow guys show off their carol singing skills, though the lyrics became more gibberish when they sung them.
With over ten millions views, it's no wonder the minions got themselves a spinoff movie.

A newly released trailer gives a glimpse at the upcoming comedy which focuses on three of the lovable little guys; Kevin, Stuart and Bob as they search the world for a new master.
The characters originated in Despicable Me and its sequel which were mammoth box office hits in 2010 and 2013.
And while fans must wait until 2017 for the third installment, they can fill the wait with a new spinoff film, Minions, which hits theaters in July next year.
The trailer opens at the beginning of time, with the minions swimming up to a island during prehistoric times where they appoint a T-Rex dinosaur as their leader.
'Minions, Minions have been on this planet far longer than we have,' the narrator can be heard saying.
'They go by many names, Dave...Carl...that one is Norbit, he's an idiot. They all share the same goal - to serve the most despicable master around'

However, as the voice-over explains: 'Finding a master was easy. Keeping a master, well that was when things got tricky.'
After their dino-leader and several other masters throughout history, such as Dracula and Napoleon, meet untimely ends, the yellow henchmen decide to isolate themselves and start a new life in Antarctica.
But it is there that they become aimless and depressed - as the narrator explains 'without a master they had no purpose.' adding: 'If this went on much longer they would surely perish'

It is then that three minions step-up to the plate; brave Kevin, along with two hapless volunteers, Stuart and Bob.
Kevin who 'felt pride he was going to be the one to find his tribe the biggest baddest villain to serve' gets support from Stuart who is obsessed with food (namely bananas) as well as Bob, who is a bag of nerves at the prospect of the mission ahead.
At the end of the trailer we see the three henchman sailing up to New York City in 1968 - or '42 years before Gru' where they continue their search.
Despicable Me grossed over $543 million while the second installment grossed $841 million worldwide last year.
Minions is set for release in the US on July 10 2015 with several stars lending their voice including Sandra Bullock, Steve Carell and Jon Hamm while Pierre Coffin provides the voices for the three main characters.
The movie will be released in the UK on June 26.
