The skin awards! Brooke Vincent, Preeya Kalidas and Chelsea Halfpenny leave little to the imagination in eye-popping gowns
Traditionally the red carpet is a chance for female celebrities to show of their individual style in elegant ball gowns.
However the stars of the 2012 Soap Awards opted to do things much differently and show off as much of their best assets as possible.
The scenes from the London TV Centre saw the faces of popular TV shows compete against each other to see who could display the most cleavage without actually going topless.
Taking the plunge: Brooke Vincent wears a very daring purple gown to the 2012 Soap Awards in London
All angles: The actress wasn't shy, showing off plenty of skin on her front and back
Leading the cleavage games was Coronation Street's Brooke Vincent who donned a very daring purple number.
The 19-year-old's dress was made up of a very low neckline which stopped just above her navel.
Her dress also had an extremely low back which surprisingly didn't fall victim to a wardrobe malfunction as it was fitted perfectly to her slender frame.
One size too small? Eastenders' Preeya Kalidas appears to be wearing a dress that is a bit too small for her, while Chelsea Halfpenny also chose a plunging gown
Her cup runneth over: The soap star's orange dress left little to the imagination
Next in line, hoping to be crowned queen of the red carpet, in an equally risky gown, was actress and singer, Preeya Kalidas who is better known as Amira Masood from Eastenders.
She showed up in a red floor length gown which looked like it might have been one dress size too small as it was a case of cup runneth over.
Eye-popping! Catherine Tyldesley was another star putting her best front forward
Dark and mysterious: Michelle Keegan wore a shimmering navy blue, one-shouldered gown
In an attempt to look demure, the 30-year-old accessorised with a thick black studded waist belt and a large black clutch bag.
She also wore her dipped-dyed brunette and blonde shoulder length locks down in loose curls.
That's a wrap: Jennifer Metcalfe wore a figure-hugging bandage dress
Whole lotta leg: Gemma Merna wore a thigh-high slit dress, while Shona McGarty was slightly more demure with a knee-high slit
Emmerdale's Chelsea Halfpenny, also put her bid in with a peach strapless maxi dress.
Halfpenny, 20, looked slightly out of place as it appeared she had forgotten to brush her hair in the rush to get ready for the ceremony.
Spice up your life: Mel C and Emma Bunton reunited on the red carpet, looking far more low-key than most of the soap stars
Don't I know you? The former bandmates cosied up for the cameras
Not only did her hair look unkempt but she went a bit overboard with the her fake tan.
Realising her shade of orange was a bit much, she quipped on her Twitter page, 'And the winner.. For Most Orange Fake Tan is.... CHELSEA HALFPENNYYYYYYY'.
Michelle Keegan, up for sexiest female at the awards, looked elegant in a shimmering navy blue, one-shouldered gown.
Understated: Rita Simons spiced up her dark gown with some peekaboo cleavage, while Alison King stuck to a subtle style
Short story: Ashley Slanina Davie, Kim Tiddy, and Jessica Fox wore dresses of varying hem-lengths
Jennifer Metcalfe stuck to her uniform of bandage dresses, opting for a floor-length green version.
Former Spice Girls Emma Bunton and Mel C both turned up, and teamed on the red carpet for some cosy snaps.
The duo looked farm more low-key than the soap star attendees, with Emma in a black dress, jazzed up by leopard-print heels, and Mel wearing slimline trousers and an elegant cream blouse.
