Adele's cousin Georgia Harrup wins a place in the next round on The Voice UK

'It would be harder if we were friends:' Adele's cousin Georgia Harrup wins a place in the next round at the expense of rival Laverne Scott-Roberts on The Voice UK

It was night of high drama on The Voice UK, but through the numerous disappointments there was triumph for singer Georgia Harrup - a distant cousin of pop icon Adele.
The singer was paired with Laverne Scott-Roberts, and there was no live lost between the pair as they rehearsed their chosen song - 22 by Taylor Swift.
'I think it would be harder if we were friends,' said Georgia. 'But I don't think we would be bothered if either of us went home.'

Meanwhile Laverne moaned: 'I wouldn’t say I dislike her but I feel we’re so opposite to each other…'
There were further problems as they continued to gripe during rehearsals, with Georgia adding:
'I think she wants one of my lines but she can stick to her lines.
'It’s got to be a good duet, but this is a battle. I can’t help her, she’s got to stand on her own two feet.'
She later admitted that performing the youthful song was hard because, when she was 22, she was rebuilding her life following the collapse of her first marriage.

After a tough performance Kylie Minogie admitted it was a touch choice, but ultinately knew who she would pick were she in mentor Tom Jones' position.
'You both did a great job but I would lean towards Georgia,' she said.
Tom agreed, and she raced across to thank the Welsh legend without bothering to acknowledge Laverne, who remained onstage.
The 27-year-old call centre worker originally impressed during blind auditions by performing a version of the Ray Charles track Hallelujah I Love Her So in front of Will.i.am, Sir Tom Jones, Kylie Minogue and Ricky Wilson.
She found out she was related to Adele five years ago when the wannabe's father contacted another branch of his family.
