Leading ladies who lunch! Julianne Moore and Reese Witherspoon make a stylish entrance at daytime Oscar nominee event
There's a certain stamina needed throughout awards season - that requires actors to look their best at all times of the day.
Which is why Reese Witherspoon and Julianne Moore got dressed up to the nines for a lunch time event on Monday - the 87th Annual Academy Awards Nominee Luncheon, held at The Beverly Hilton Hotel.
The leading ladies - both vying for an Oscar this year in the Best Actress category - led the glamorous red-carpet arrivals at the star-studded daytime event.

Leading ladies! Julianne Moore, 54, and Reese Witherspoon, 38, attend the 87th Annual Academy Awards Nominee Luncheon, held at The Beverly Hilton Hotel on Monday
Witherspoon, 38, looked stunning in a monochrome cocktail dress and matching strappy heels.
Meanwhile Moore, 54, matched the red carpet in a knee-length rouge ensemble.
Best Supporting Actress nominee Patricia Arquette, 46, looked stylish in a fitted white outfit, while Best Actress nominee Marion Cotillard, 39, went for an odd choice of dress, which appeared to feature a print of an avocado.
Wild about her look! Reese proudly showed off her monochrome ensemble while posing on the red carpet
That's just showing off! Gone Girl actress Rosamund Pike continued to show her impressive weight loss at the event as she posed on the red carpet
Great Girl: Rosamund is up against favourite Julianne Moore in the Best Actress category despite giving a career-best performance in the David Fincher thriller
Emma Stone - nominated for Best Supporting Actress for Birdman - proved her fashionista status in a shiny striped top and polka-dot dress.
The Academy Awards won't happen until the end of the month on 22 February, but there's plenty of swish events for the nominees to attend ahead of the big night.
The Theory Of Everything stars Eddie Redmayne and Felicity Jones also attended, who have been nominated for their roles.
The white stuff: Also going for a pale look was 46-year-old Oscar nominee Patricia Arquette
Be my date: Patricia brought along her artist boyfriend Eric White to the luncheon
Hit and miss: Emma Stone looked stylish in her signature cool style, while Marion Cotillard appeared to be modelling an avocado
Big win? American Sniper director Clint Eastwood and star Bradley Cooper arrived together at the event
What controversy? The film has faced strong criticism but that it doesn't appear to have affected Clint and Bradley
Bright young things: The Theory Of Everything stars Eddie Redmayne and Felicity Jones went smart for the event
Smiles for the cameras: The British pair happily lapped up the attention inside the event too
Ready for their close-ups: The duo also took time out to pose for a portrait photograph
Redmayne is a hot favourite to win in the Best Actor category, but has to beat fellow favourite Michael Keaton for his role in Birdman.
The host of the night Neil Patrick Harris, was also in attendance at the luncheon on Monday in a smart suit.
Harris stars in Gone Girl, which has received several Oscar nods, including a Best Actress nominee for Rosamund Pike.
The Big O! Selma producer Oprah Winfrey was a picture in purple at the star-studded event
Mingling: Once inside the event Oprah chatted with rapper and actor Common, who stars in the film Selma for which Oprah served as a producer
Fancy seeing you here: Also in attendance was funnyman Steve Carrell and Oscars host Neil Patrick Harris
With his leading lady: Steve wrapped an arm around wife Nancy's waist as they mingled inside
Making it a family affair: Wild star Laura Dern arrived with her father Bruce Dern at the event
The pair shared a very shocking sex scene in the David Fincher movie, which will perhaps provide Harris with a funny line or two on the night.
Harris takes over from the tried and tested talents of Ellen DeGeneres, who last year provided the highlight of getting A-list stars to pose for the ultimate selfie.
Inside the event, Boyhood director Richard Linklater was seen posing the movie's breakout star Ellar Coltrane.
Although Coltrane, 20, has not been nominated for an Academy Awards, he has won widespread acclaim for his central role in the drama.
The movie is up for top prizes such as Best Picture and Best Director, as well as the Best Supportive Actress nod for Arquette.
I can do glamorous too! Former Ugly Betty star America Ferrera looked lovely in a red dress
Boys to men: Director Richard Linklater (right) poses with Ellar Coltrane, the star of his Oscar-nominated movie Boyhood, which was filmed sporadically over the course of 12 years
Painting the town red: Still Alice star Julianne was all smiles once inside the event
Ready to take flight: Both Edward Norton and Michael Keaton have been nominated for their roles in the movie Birdman
Style stalker: Fellow Birdman star Emma also appeared to be a party mood inside the luncheon
