She was named the World’s Most Beautiful Woman in People magazine on Wednesday.

And on the same day Gwyneth Paltrow showed just why as she put on a sophisticated appearance at the Marvel’s Iron Man 3 Hollywood premiere.

The 40-year-old arrived on the red carpet at the El Capitan Theatre in Los Angeles, California in a gown which looked demure from a distance.

However on closer look the actress’ dress featured mesh panels down the sides, showing off her hips and décolletage area.

The material would have made it almost impossible for her to wear underwear beneath the number.

While she could have quite possibly been wearing a strapless bra, briefs would have been too tricky.

With a dark green peplum section that matched her kimono style arm cuffs, the slender thespian - who plays Pepper Potts - looked in great shape.

She is known for taking up often strict healthy eating plans - such as eating only macrobiotic meals at one point - in an effort to stay trim.

She allowed her skin to glow in natural make-up and wore her blonde locks straight and to one side over her shoulder.

It’s no wonder the mother of two children with Coldplay singer Chris Martin - who was nowhere to be seen on the night - was given the prestigious beauty accolade.

She added a fun twist to her appearance with purple nail polish and paired a large drop earring with a contrasting small stud that evening.

Disney star Bella Thorne was also going for a style which emphasised her stomach area.

The 15-year-old wore a poppy print ensemble which featured a cropped top to display her toned tummy.

She paired the peplum skirt with a pair of peep toe black heels and wore her red lucks up in a bun on top of her head, accessorising with a stand-out necklace and wearing red lipstick with yellow nail polish.

The Shake It Up! actress wasn’t the only Disney favourite to grace the screening.

Suite Life On Deck star Debby Ryan, 19, was also in attendance after tweeting, ‘Pulling my hair up at @SalonBenjamin. Stoked to see Iron Man tonight, & to show you my carpet look.’

The red head wore her locks up and donned a bandeau item which had a leather top and white floral skirt.

Actress Jaimie Alexander, 29, flaunted her thin frame in a yellow dress with a row of flowers above the bust to match her ring.

The raven-haired beauty was complain on Twitter earlier about her thin body and revealed she was working to bulk up.

She wrote: ‘For the first time in my life...I'm having difficulty adding weight/muscle to my body. I actually HATE my thin frame at the moment....SO....

He wore a smart pinstriped suit while she stood out in an orange frock which had material gathered at one side.

Twilight Saga actor Peter Facinelli, 39, was also suited and booted at the Walt Disney Pictures event.

Jon Favreau (Happy Hogan), Ty Simpkins (Harley), writer Stan Lee (Stan The Man) and Ashley Hamilton (Jack Taggert) additionally posed upon entry to the gathering.

The film is released in the United Kingdom on April 25 and the synopsis reads that when Tony Stark's world is torn apart by a formidable terrorist called the Mandarin, he starts an odyssey of rebuilding and retribution.

There’s not much glamour for Rebecca Hall’s character Dr Maya Hansen in Iron Man 3.

So it’s no surprise that British actress decided to pull out all the stops on the fashion front for the premiere on her home turf on Thursday evening.

The 30-year-old pulled off a tricky plunging jumpsuit and managed to remain looking the picture of elegance despite offering waiting fans a cheeky glimpse of side-boob.

Rebecca, who is often conservative when it comes to dressing, made the most of the slightly warmer weather with the racy outfit.

While from the front the her breasts were concealed by the pieces of fabric when she turned to the side a large amount could be seen.

She accessorised with a pair of strappy black heels and a small black clutch bag with a wood detailing on it.

Making sure the stunning piece of clothing took centre stage she wore her hair sleeked off her face in a low bun.

Her beautiful look was completed with a dash of red lipstick which helped turn her into a vampy screen siren.

Rebecca didn’t need to worry about anyone stealing her thunder as Gwyneth Paltrow chose to forgo the premiere, despite attending many others around the world.

Instead, the actress made an appearance at the star-studded Tiffany and Co. Blue Book Ball in New York.

Leading man Robert Downey Jr was however on hand and looked very dapper in a suit and tie.

However as has become his style he finished his look with a pair of white Gucci trainers.

The actor was his usual jovial self on the red carpet and seemed particularly happy to be joined by his wife Susan who looked great in a sleek black dress.

Rebecca is a new addition to the popular franchise and staying true to her roots, she confirmed hat her character is a ‘strong female character.’

Speaking about taking part in the film, she said: ‘I decided to do Iron Man 3 because I've never done the 'hurry up and wait' movie before.

‘Even the studio movies I've done have been small studio movies, or indie films that we made on a wing and a prayer.

‘I love those, but Iron Man is refreshing in a way because it's something out of my realm of experiences.’

While not giving too much away about her role, she revealed that her character has a flashback scene to where she first met Tony Stark in 1993.

The scene in question takes place on New Year's Eve in a hotel room with Tony Stark and Happy Hogan but it sounds like it was more fun than romantic.

Speaking about it, Rebecca revealed: 'We had a fun time shooting it because it was funny on the page, but somehow the three of us started getting more and more ridiculous with it and got a lot of jokes out of it.'

The latest installment in the Iron Man franchise will see Gwyneth's character Pepper step out of the boardroom and into heavy action to help her love fight a formidable nemesis called the Mandarin.

The film, which also stars Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce and Stephanie Szostak is set after the events that occurred in The Avengers.

Tony Stark faces a powerful enemy, the Mandarin. Left only to rely on his instincts, he must embark on a harrowing quest to find those responsible for destroying his personal life.

The Mandarin is a powerful enemy with 10 Rings that grant him immense power. At the beginning of the movie, he launches an attack at the Stark Expo where Happy Hogan, Tony Stark's bodyguard, is injured.

Meanwhile, the US Government is receiving evidence of people disappearing. Using his computer tracking equipment, Stark realizes that the Mandarin has been kidnapping citizens of the US and turning them into super soldiers with the new Extremis Virus.

Robert recently said the film by director Shane Black will be worth the price of admission.

'I'm a pretty tough critic on these things and I think this third one is really worth a couple of hours to spend to go to see at a theatre,' he said.

The premiere was forced to be delayed due to the Baroness Thatcher's funeral on Wednesday.

A Disney spokesperson told Deadline the London gala would be moved to Thursday to avoid the clash.
