But Naomie Harris certainly lived up to the sexy image of the coveted part as she stepped out at a photocall for the upcoming movie in the James Bond franchise in New York on Monday.
Looking every inch the screen siren, the 36-year-old actress showed off her perfect pins in a black minidress by Marios Schwab as she posed alongside her co-stars.

Teaming the stylish garment with a pair of fierce black leather detail stilettos and her hair scraped back from her face, the London-born beauty let her legs do the talking as she walked the red carpet.
Although Naomie lived up to her sexy Bond girl image, her Skyfall co-star Bérénice Marlohe chose to cover up in a military-inspired coat.
Featuring gold button detailing, the French actress teamed teamed the unusual garment with a pair of chocolate brown suede boots, treating onlookers to only a mere flash of flesh at the knee.

But with her brunette locks flowing around her shoulders and minimal make-up accentuating her features, there is no denying the 33-year-old star still looked stunning in her demure choice of ensemble.
Naomie and Bérénice were accompanied at the New York photocall of the movie by co-star Javier Bardem and, of course, James Bond himself, Daniel Craig.
The leading man looked every inch the dapper dude in a perfectly-tailored black suit, crisp white shirt, and black tie.

Meanwhile, Skyfall villain Bardem went for a more casual approach in a chocolate brown blazer, grey shirt and faded jeans as the group hit the red carpet.
While Naomie admitting she 'didn't see it' when she was first approached for a role in the upcoming movie, she explained her Bond alter-ego, field agent Eve, is a far cry from the traditional notion of a sexy, but somewhat vacuous, 007 girl.

She told the November issue of InStyle magazine: 'She’s very intelligent and highly ambitious – her aim is to be as capable as James Bond. It’s much more evolved, much more reflective of how women are now – multifaceted, multidimensional and equal to men.
'It’s amazing, sometimes, you watch other movies and you think, "Wow, are we really still there… where the woman’s offering the drinks and there’s nothing more to her?"'
Skyfall opens to the public on Friday, October 26.
