Looking perfectly polished and ladylike, the young actress documented her afternoon of hair, make-up and wardrobe, revealing the secrets of how her flawless look came together in an exclusive photo diary for Who What Wear.

Before zipping into her embellished blush-pink Oscar de la Renta dress, which was finished off with silver Oscar de la Renta heels, and Forevermark jewels, the youngster posed for pictures in her dressing room with hairstylist Bridgette Badger, and makeup artist Elle Leary.
She made sure to take close up pictures of her jewels - on her shoes, paneled dress and matching set of earrings and rings - which she wore on her index finger.
Kiernan, who told Vanity Fair last year that Grace Kelly is her biggest inspiration, arrived at the awards ceremony with her real estate developer father, John Young Shipka.

The teenager's old-Hollywood style hair and calf-length dress perfectly mirrored the late Princess' demure and polished style.
Clearly favouring blush-pink and metallic combinations, she also looked elegant in a long pale pink dress that she teamed with silver shoes at ELLE's Women in Television Celebration last week.
Last year she explained what drives her fashion force to Harper's Bazaar's The Look, saying: 'It kind of started by going to fashion websites and blogs, and flicking through magazines. My style kind of changes throughout the years.'

Kiernan also revealed how Mad Men has shaped her thoughts on style, and praised the show's costume designer for teaching her a willingness to experiment with fashion.
'Our costume designer, Janie Bryant, is definitely a visionary. She's awesome!' she exclaimed.
'She puts outfits together so well. You'll put on a an outfit, a dress, some shoes, and she'll say, "No, its not quite right". She'll go to the other side of the room and pick up a different pair of socks and a coat from over there, and she just makes outfits work.'

'I most admire people who aren't afraid what people are going to think,' she added, 'and really just rock it even though its kind of crazy.
'I tend to respect that more than someone that just plays it safe. For instance I would look like a clown in Willow Smith's clothes but I think she looks amazing in them, and she rocks them so much, so I love her style.'
