Standing out from the crowd: Michelle Dockery stuns at Entertainment Weekly party in unusual eye-catching dress

But it was actress Michelle Dockery who stole the show with her brightly coloured dress.
The star, 31, wore an eclectic Peter Pilotto number for the event at Los Angeles's Chateau Marmont this weekend.

The British-born actress wore a black dress which left her shoulders and arms bare.
The garment featured an unusual neckline which plunged at the middle and added to the character of the dress.
On the front there was a red, white, grey and blue pattern which made the actress stand out from the other stars that attended the event.

Michelle completed her look by wearing a pair of bright red shoes and accessorised with a pair of simple gold earrings.
And the actress, who stars in hit show Downton Abbey as Lady Mary Crawley, says the show inspired her to go for a more bold style in real life.
She recently told InStyle: 'My character wears a lot of bold jewel tones. I never thought a colour like red would suit me, but now I find myself wearing more of these colours off the show as well. I like giving a nod to Downton.'

Michelle was joined by a host of other stars including fellow actress Alyssa Milano who went for a daring look in a nearly see-through dress.
The 40-year-old star opted for a blue lace dress with a nude-coloured beneath which created the illusion she was wearing nothing under the garment.
She accentuated her curves by wearing a gold belt at her waist which matched the small clutch purse that she carried in her hand.

Actor Jesse Metcalfe was also in attendance and arrived at the party arm-in-arm with his actress fiancee Cara Santana.
The pair looked loved-up as they arrived at the event with Cara looking glamorous in a cream-coloured sparking gown.
Jesse looked smart in a black suit while he wore a white shirt underneath which he left unbuttoned at the collar.

The actor, who has been filming the re-charged version of 1980s classic Dallas, took time out of his busy schedule to attend the star-studded bash.
He recently took to Twitter to thank fans for their positive response after seeing the new version of the show.
Jesse wrote: 'Wow! rlly overwhelmed w/ the response 2 the season finale of @DallasOn5! luv 2 all R UK viewers 4 making the show. (sic)"
