Corrie star Georgia May Foote ... set for a bright future
CORRIE bosses have handed sexy actress Georgia May Foote a new bumper contract.
After The Sun’s shock revelation last month that Michelle Keegan — barmaid Tina McIntyre — is leaving the Street, show execs pulled out all the stops to keep the rising star.Georgia will challenge Michelle for her sexiest female crown at Sunday’s British Soap Awards, so show execs see her as the perfect replacement.
The new 12-month deal will run until next May and will make the actress, who plays young mum Katy Armstrong, one of the top earners among Corrie’s crop of young stars.
Bosses are delighted she has put pen to paper as they feared the show was in danger of losing its glamorous side, following the departures of Helen Flanagan and Katherine Kelly.

A soap source said last night: “It is really brilliant news for everyone at Corrie that Georgia has agreed to stay on.
“She’s a brilliant actress who has impressed everyone with the way she has taken to playing Katy.
“On top of that she is a stunning young girl and very popular with male viewers. The improved deal we’ve given her reflects how highly we rate her.”
The source added: “Losing Michelle will be a huge blow. The fact she’s won Sexiest Female at the Soap Awards four years running shows just how popular she is.
“But Georgia has got a real chance of taking her crown this year, which would cement her place as a rising star.”
Georgia joined the soap in 2010.
Recently her character has been having a steamy affair with bad boy Ryan Connor, behind the back of Chesney Brown — the dad of her son Joseph.
